    Eco-Trawler 33

I saw this new boat advertised recently. It's a 33 foot trailerable, aluminum, outboard powered yacht designed by Don O'Keeffe. It looks interesting. Rob http://www.trawlersmidwest.com/eco_trawler.htm

    economy of 90 vs 115 on a CD22

The Yamaha 115 is quite a bit lighter than the Honda 115. A Yamaha 115 + 8hp kicker would be 484 (401 + 83) pounds vs. 478 for the Honda 115 alone. Rob

    Fuel-filler grounding on 22 Cruiser

Sunbeam, Will you attach the ground wire to one of the bolts used to mount the fuel fill? Or will you attach it to the fuel fill some other way? Rob

    New heater/defroster for Tomcat

I was curious about how it works and found this site. Between the write-up and diagram, I now have at least a basic idea. Rob http://www.navstore.com/webasto-tsl-17- ... ewire.html

    Sunbeam ~ C-Dory 22 Cruiser

Sunbeam, A follow up question. It sounds like you are saying that a 3/4" Groco bronze thru hull fitting is snug in your 1" ID, 1 1/8" OD fiberglass tube. Is something off by 1/4" or am I missing something again. If you used one of these for the lower drain plug (not the splash well), do they...

    Sunbeam ~ C-Dory 22 Cruiser

Sunbeam, I have a few questions / comments about the drain hole work you completed. 1. Could you post a picture, or link, or part# for the Forespar Marelon drain tube you considered using? 2. Could you post a picture, or link, or part# for the 3/4" through hull that was plan 3 and would fit...

how to remove spray foam residue from fibre glass

When I was finishing mine I used a new grill brush. You have a long handle with a wire brush on one side and a flat metal scraper on the other side. Rob

    Antifouling paint

That's interesting. What did the owner say about a survey? I can't imagine saying "my boat is for sale but you cannot have it surveyed". Could there be any bigger red flag than that? Rob

    Boat heaters

I wondered the same thing. The instructions say 20" minimum clearance to ceiling. The picture doesn't look like that much clearance. A very nice looking installation though. Rob

    Projects from The Man Cave

Jay, You're right, it looks much closer than that. It sounds like you have it all worked out. One other picture that I would be interested in seeing is the rest of the return duct in the v-berth. Thanks for the info. Rob

    Projects from The Man Cave

Jay, Very nice job on the heater install. It looks like it was pretty involved. I have a question about your cabinet divider. It looks like it is placed very close to the heater. Will this cause any problems by restricting airflow around the unit when it is running? Rob

    Peter on C-Dancer

I just saw a picture of C-Dancer on the home page and it reminded me that I have not seen a post from Peter in a quite a while. He used to post regularly. Hope all is well. Anyone heard from him? Rob

Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi Rich, George's idea sounds pretty good. The Cumberland offers some great cruising, especially in the Fall. Pack up the animals and take off. The forecast for Nashville on Saturday is 79 and partly sunny...perfect boating weather. We plan to be out on the water as well. Enjoy the animals...

Has Anyone Seen One of These Hardtops?

Kent, The following link is a write up of a recent installation of the Hard to Top product on a larger boat. The author seems pretty happy with it. I will be interested to see why kind of responses you get as I am interested in a hard top as well. http://trawler-beach-house.blogspot.com ...

Prop Size for 22 foot Angler with 115 Yamaha 4 stroke

Colby, My Mercury 115 came with a Mercury 17 pitch prop, but the WOT rpm's were low. I have both the 3 blade and the 4 blade aluminum Solas 15 pitch props. They are both good. I keep the 3 blade on the boat and it gives about 5600 rpm's at WOT. The desired range on my engine is 5000-6000...

A larger Marinuat (wherefor art thou)...

Les, Since you are also a Rosborough dealer, if you had the new Marinaut 259 ready to sell as currently designed, how would you compare and contrast the two boats for a potential customer? I would be interested in hearing your take on the strengths and weaknesses of the two boats. Thanks, Rob

    CD22 Storage

Hi John & Jeannie, The hatch is a Bomar / Pompanette G8812 in off-white. Defender's item number is 901303. The area was pretty much full of foam and it was a big job to remove. After removing the foam, we then had to cut and file the points of any screws and bolts that penetrated from the...

    CD22 Storage

Pete...thanks. Sean...we used a saber saw with a fine tooth blade. We also covered the glass to be cut with blue masking tape before starting. It is hard to tell if the masking tape helped, but it certainly didn't hurt. Rob
