    Binoculars revisited

Thank you all for the suggestions! Will start with some 7x50’s and go from there. Steiners and fujis seem to be well respected among the cbrats.

    fuel tank covers

Just replaced my 2006 22’ cruiser fuel, vent, and fill lines this week. Panels were bolted at the top and had screws at the bottom into a metal bracket. If the panels covering the tanks are bulging out, that seems like serious tank deformation or maybe even blocked vents in hot weather? I...

    Binoculars revisited

Zeiss are great but the 10x42 is hard for me to stay on target in anything choppy!

    Binoculars revisited

Thank you I will definitely look at lower magnification (7x-8x) and possibly a stabilizing binocular. Those are new to me and I might get spoiled there. The 18x I only use on a tripod, and I find I spot far more animals at distance this way than with any other method. Also I can spot much...

    Fuel not getting to motor

Well now I could kick myself. Just pulled both tanks and put in new fuel lines. Pick ups were stiff but in good working order. Shoulda tossed a couple new ones in while it was all pulled apart! That’s some rough luck both of them failing simultaneously!

    Binoculars revisited

Whaddaya got? Currently using hunting glass, and its just not the best tool for the job. I’ve seen past recommendations but theres bound to be new kids in town when it comes to marine optics. I use vortex hd 10x42, and maven 18x56 for hunting. Spotting scopes make my brain hurt…. Looking...

    Gelcoat 2021

I think I will buy more and attempt further color matching. No easy task when colorblind and the dried color is different than wet! Will be able to use fresh gelcoat this way, as Bob recommends. If it’s slightly off i’ll call it snow camo.

Brakes for older EZ Loader trailer for a C-22

Looks like you are in Montana! I put electric over hydraulic on and ripped my surge actuator off last year. Makes downhill runs much more comfortable. The boat launch seems like the flattest ground around here sometimes. (I exaggerate of course) but Have you ever backed uphill with surge...

!#@@#! Oil Filter on Suzi 200

Love the subaru oil change: open tank on bottom to drain pan, loosen filter ON TOP OF MOTOR, allow pan to drain. Fully unscrew the now empty filter, tighten bottom, refill oil, screw on new filter. Only thing with oilY mess is the Oil pan bolt and the wrench. Boat motor oil change step one...

    Gelcoat 2021

Any brats ordered up gel coat lately? I found it for our 2006 22’ for a mere 450$ a gallon. Dont need a gallon I think, but do need enough to fix some stress cracks, a couple of chips, and spider cracks. Some of it just wear and tear on a 15 year old boat, others marks of amateur shame. Had...

    Towing a 13' Whaler w/ a 22 Cruiser

I dont even pretend to be qualified on this question, but if I was doing this I would beg borrow or steal a kicker for the whaler just in case you have to cut it loose and keep it controlled. Good luck, and i’m certain pros will be along shortly to advise

    Night Fishing lights

I saw some of those. Looks like they put off a ton of light! Thanks maybe i’ll try a small one. If nothing else it will keep kids entertained in slow times

    Night Fishing lights

5000! Ouch! I have yet to have the experience of a boat inspection on land. I understand the need to preserve our waterways and protect against invasive species, but 5k for leaving your plug in on dry land is a bit absurd. Do you wait until you see water coming through the hole to plug it, or...

    Night Fishing lights

Spotlighting for deer!!?? No that’s a whole other can of worms. Night Fishing out of galveston from piers or on the beach it’s standard practice to use floodlights. Now that is a phenomenon every Northwestern fisherman should see: generators and floodlights going all night long on the Texas...

    Night Fishing lights

Thanks! Red down lighting in back is a good idea. A flood for near boat activity/docking is on the to do list. I’ve only ever used light as an attractant on the gulf coast. Up here I was always a bank and beach fisherman, so a flashlight hanging out of the mouth and a camp fire were the main...

    Forest Fire Smoke

We had one hotspot I know of up twisp river. Failed human ignition I believe, but otherwise our haze is all from other areas blowing in. Looking to Canada this week. Neighbors definitely on high alert right now with dry lighting in the forecast. Just a curious related question. Where do...

    Night Fishing lights

So I love to fish, but hate crowded ramps and fleets of boats and combat casting. I love salmon, but since moving back to Washington again have been blown away by the hordes of angry river anglers all competing for one or two productive holes on big rivers and lakes. Well i’ve scoped out a few...
