    Rod Holders

All finished. Very easy to do. A few pictures are up now for the rod/or downrigger gimbal holder location that I couldn't find described by other brats. My first big hole in the boat. :thup :D :thup Mike
  3. Finished lazarette rod holder mount/tube for groundfish jigging and ready to accept a downrigger gimbal insertion for trolling when needed.

  5. Battery/switch covered and bag taped in to collect debris. Quickly made jig with a 2 1/2" hole at a 65 deg angle for rod mount. I recommend the jig instead of eyeing the needed angle as the instructions indicate.

    Rod Holders

Hi Joe, I do have a house battery in there along with a VSR/battery distribution cluster. That said, there is a lot of accessible room (without even having to remove the battery&switch) for this rod holder. If I mount the rod tube in there (9" long by 2 1/2" diameter) I will likely clamp a...

    Rod Holders

Hello, Speaking of rod holders, I am in a dilemma as well. I want to sink a flush mounted rod holder (30 or 60 deg. angle) aft of the lazarette instead of the gunwale. I would use the holder while drifting or fishing while anchored. When needed I would then insert a downrigger gimbal for...

    Flexing of cockpit deck

Hi Al, Thanks for the concern and ideas. I agree about getting the repair done sooner rather than this Fall. I did actually call the repair guy today and we are going to shoot for the second week of August to get it in there. He doesn't make specific appointments but that's another story...

    Flexing of cockpit deck

Thanks Charlie, I sent pictures to the C-Dory dealer who sold me the boat. It was a surprise to him (what about a surprise for me). It would have been nice to get a simple apology. He's an old guy in Oregon and you would think he'd know the value of a sincere apology by now! Then again, he is...

    Flexing of cockpit deck

DD & Joe, Scratch that. I don't really know if I have permanently installed floorboards or not. The cockpit floor does not seem elevated but now I will have to go back and look and post some pictures. Thanks for the suggestion. :thup Mike

    Flexing of cockpit deck

Hi Steve, I do intend to pull those screws and check out the fuel tank cleat areas. I have a garage for the boat so there is no water getting in it currently. But yes, great idea since it won’t be torn into for a month or so, no need to continue to possibly have more water enter until then...

    Flexing of cockpit deck

Didn't think I would be posting back already. Got a few findings/opinions today from a reputable boat repair guy locally who is very familiar with C-Dorys and was able to look at the flexing. He said it could be a few things just off the cuff (without drilling to make sure): 1. Screws that...

    Flexing of cockpit deck

Joe, Hi, good thought about the trailer. My trailer has running slats, not rollers so therefore it is the one area on the bottom that I cannot see while it is on the trailer. I don’t want to dive in our 48 deg. water. :!: Perhaps the surveyor that I called today will have it hauled out to...

    Flexing of cockpit deck

Hello everyone, first time posters here. We just received our boat and are having a great time with it in Alaskan waters. We have a call out to the engineer who surveyed our 2005 22' Cruiser before purchasing but in the meantime we'd like to draw on the experience of this great forum. While...
