16 foot Jon Boat attempts the Great loop speed record.

I'd call it more of a stunt than an accomplishment.

    Trial Run with Spouce

Halon is illegal. If you have an existing system that is still charged, you can keep it, but buying new is not allowed. Recharging a discharged halon system is also not allowed. There are other gaseous fire extinguishing systems (e.g. CO2). Halon works best in an enclosed space.

Many ways to sink a boat: Plug, Washdown, and Bilge Pump

Been there done that. Getting the boat on plane will allow the water to drain. But you still have to stop some time to put the plug in. But if you're ready to do the plug before you stop, the amount of water you have to pump out could be less.

    C-Dory Meet Up in Midwest

I'd be quite interested to see this.

    Truck/Trailer Storage

I probably would look into self storage places that have RV/boat storage. They'd have spaces big enough for the trailer.

    Flushing Techniques

My Honda 90 can be flushed with the flush fitting, but you're not supposed to run the motor with water just through the flush port because it does not supply water to the impeller.

I expect that there's going to be different classes of records. E.g. solo crew boats, boats under 20', single engine boats, electric powered boats, boats made of cardboard, boats with 12 engines, traveling the GL in reverse gear, etc. It's going to be a thing.

My 22 is set up the same way as Colby's boat.

The factory might be better served by ensuring that all the penetrations into the core are properly done.

    Guest Chargers

My original guest charger gave up after about 8 years. Replaced it with a ProNautica one.

    Spark plug stories

Probably running too rich. However, IMO if you are not experiencing any operation issues, "Don't fix it if it ain't broke."

16 foot Jon Boat attempts the Great loop speed record.

I'm wondering what he is going to do on the canals (e.g. Erie=10mph mostly). If he takes the Canadian route I think it is 6mph.

He fell asleep and ran his boat around at speed. Who didn't see that coming?

    New engine maintenance

The lower case oil is easy. To empty remove the bottom plug then the top (less oil on your hands). Let the oil drain. Using a pump attachment on the gear oil bottle (commonly available, see example in link below) pump the gear oil into the drain hole until it just starts coming out the fill (top...

    Charging issues

If the solar panel is more than a couple of years old, you might want to look into installing a newer one. Prices are down, technology has improved, and can solar panels degrade over time.

    GottaGo toilet

All of the "composting" toilets on the market are not true composting toilets. A more appropriate name would be desiccating toilets. Composting of organic material usually requires the use of bacteria and the generation of a fair amount of heat.

    Is it worth up grading

Running with the tabs full down will reduce the top speed. You only put the tabs down far enough to get a decent ride in the chop. On calm water you may not need them much (depends on how your boat is loaded). My tabs are normally about 60% extended when I need them. Your top speed of 23 at WOT...
