    Outboard Tell Tale Stream

Yes Matt that is correct. Water is inducted thru the lower unit by the water pump impeller and is forced upward thru the entire engine head and is eventually discharged thru the exhaust system. The tell tale stream is only a small part of the cooling water discharged.

    Dyneema Anchor Rode

I had a similar set up on my last boat, 8 plait rode 1/4" HS chain running thru a Lewmar ProFish 700. I really liked that set up a lot. I now have the Lewmar 700 but not pro fish. I'm not sure the dyneema will work with these windlasses. I believe it is used with drum roller type windlass...

    Outboard Tell Tale Stream

This might be a great time to check your thermostats as well as clearing the telltale tube. You'll get an idea of how much salt deposits built up inside the head. You may also want to run some Saltaway thru the engine after being in saltwater.

What's your favorite fish for the table ?

Here in the PNW we are blessed with a variety of excellent seafood choices all of which could be caught and cooked the same day. Locally I like Ling Cod baked or seared in cast iron skillet with various spices. Spot shrimp are excellent as well as fresh caught Dungeness crab cooked and eaten...

    Impeller brands, quality and costs

Just my own opinion and possibly overkill but I like to know where I am when I start out on something. I would change out the water pump kit and save the removed impeller for an emergency. Generally, if the rubber is not cracked, checked, and will regain its original shape (ie the legs...

    Kicker motor repair needed

I was asked by a friend who inherited the boat to help him fix his kicker motor. The situation is this; The motor is a 2016 T9.9 Yamaha, electric start, hydraulic tilt. The boat sat outside for a couple of years with the kicker motor in the tilted up position with the tiller arm up (and...

Here is another link that may help you identify your motor. You have to know a little about your motor to identify it, shaft length, remote control, eic . Once you've determined the model # then you can search the parts catalogue for a replacement. Hope this helps...

    29 Venture

More info may help in identifying your boat to begin to be able to give a value. I wasn't aware that they made a 29' Venture. I thought that 26' was the largest Venture. Anyway more info would be helpful, such as year, electronics package, trailer, canvas, etc, etc.

    Best shallow space bilge pump?

JKSWOR, I did the search of the 'dry bilge system' and saw the video of the entire assembly. I see you have a 25' the same year as mine and I am wondering how this set up works. It seems to be a fairly low volume set up using a small diameter clear plastic tubing. Do you use this in addition...

How do you prevent trailer connector contacts from corroding

I also agree that a dielectric grease is the proper way to attempt to reduce corrosion. It would also be a good idea to have that cleaner to clean out the dust/grime build up occasionally. The idea is to prevent salt water from contacting the electrical conduction areas and the grease will be...

    VF90A 4 STROKE.

Sometimes it is cheaper to just take it to the shop and have them plug it in to identify the problem. Might have saved you buying new filters and plugs. I suspect it is some electronic sensor that is giving the motor signal to shut down. How long is the initial break in oil supposed to be...

    Fwd deck seat

Would this be use while at anchor or underway? From my personal experience with the 25' i'm not inclined to allow anybody on the bow while underway as it creates a possible safety hazard. There are too many unexpected instances which require immediate response from the pilot possibly throwing...

Another Wallas thread - with Canadian content

We've had the Sea Witch since May of 2021 and have used the Wallace stove a fair amount mostly as a heater during the shoulder seasons. When I brought the boat home I went through every system on the boat and tested the operations of each. When it came to the Wallace stove I replaced the fuel...

Big 'ole cooler to double as bench seat?

Hunter, I don't have a 22 but have had a 65qt RTIC cooler that was a knock off of the YETI. You could jump up and down on it, a beast for sure. Good if you keep them full and aren't getting in and out of them often. You should easily be able to find them online. Good luck.

Molded insert replacements for cockpit of 25"

Thanks Patrick, I saw that one and it looks pretty close. The netting on that could be changed to put in the hard front retainer wall from the original inserts. I'll have to check the measurements for opening on the existing set up. That is where I store my 15lb downrigger weights when not in...

Molded insert replacements for cockpit of 25"

Thanks for the replies everyone. Steve I am unable to post a picture of the insert at this time, but the picture in Colby's post is as near as I can remember identical. I'm not sure of the measurements at this time either. Colby, I will check with NMI and hopefully come up with a solution...
