    tempus fugit.

This photo was taken just 21 Years ago, in December 2003, on lake Union.. That's Pat Anderson in Daydream in the foreground and JoeP and me in Miss Mirth following. The old ferry Kalakala is tied up in the background. The next day it was towed up to Anacortes. What happened to it?

    all electric 16 footer

Came across this all-electric powered 16 footer. Looks like an interesting set up, sort of the Tesla of C-Dorys I guess https://anchorage.craigslist.org/bod/5205074773.html

    Captain Jim's Blogspot

Well, the 'General Chat' forum is described as a place to share the fun. I guess it's OK then to refer you to http://captnjim.blogspot.com/' Captain Jim is , as many of you know, Jim Bathurst, former owner of the 25 footer Wild Blue. For the past several years he has captained a whale watching...

    knots/mph conversion tables

Well I confess I can't ever remember this stuff so here is one (of many) available conversion tables. I don't feel so bad knowing that there are big ship captains that wear one red and one green sock . http://www.srh.noaa.gov/msd/publicmarin ... ndconv.htm

    anchor weight

When we bought this boat a few years ago it came with a very heavy plow like anchor. I would like to replace it with a light weight fluke anchor. What weight anchor would you recommend for a 16 foot angler? Thanks.

    Our Man Sam

This Spring he will lead a flotilla from Anacortes to Ketchican. Read about it here.. http://www.samlandsman.com/ Good luck and congratulations Sam, we...

    Lewmar Windlass

Well, our boat came with this windlass already installed. Unfortunately I have never been able to figure out 1)if it works and 2) if it works, how it works. So, for the entire time we've had it, it has resided in this cover. What I am asking is this. Is there somebody in the Seattle area who...

    outa juice?

Well, I thought I'd post this in light of the recent discussion of ethanol and energy stuff. On my daily walk I see more and more all-electric cars as well as hybrids. At least one C-Brat has mentioned how much he enjoys his Chevy Volt. As a 50 some year member of AAA I'm glad to see they are...

    Langley Marina News

Here's a link to a newsletter from the harbormaster at Langley Marina, now known as South Whidbey Harbor. Looks like they are adding some more floating dock space that is ADA approved. Now if they could just figure out a way for some of us to get up that hill...

    Happy Birthday Thor

Our tow vehicle Thor, a four cylinder Volvo 240 wagon, was purchased new by Dotty and me just twenty years ago this month. Rated to tow up to 3300 lbs and holding 71 cubic feet of stuff (not including us), it has served us flawlessly. Now mated to the twenty year old 16 foot Lizzie, we expect...

    Honda EFI 50 rpms

Our 2011 motor runs fine, most of the time. It starts right up and never stalls. However sometimes it will speed up on its own, or hesitate momentarily and then settle back to an even rpm. The engine has only 55 hours on it, of which I put on 30 and the previous owner 25. I don't know if the 20...

    NYPD Patrol Boat

Dotty and I were cruising from Portage Bay into Lake Union today, on our way to Fishermen's Terminal for lunch. Low and behold, tied up at Ivars Salmon House was this big, brand new NYPD patrol boat. A little research indicates that it probably is a new build by Kvichak in Ballard. They were...

The Highline band is doing a outdoor concert at the Ballard Locks this Saturday at 2:00 pm. Chuck, of the 22 footer Bootleg Hootch, will be there with his sax. The Ballard Locks is a wonderful destination for anyone that likes boats, locks, fish ladders, and flowers! On the weekends they have...
