Thanks for the candid assessment of MM. Who are the owners? Getting to know them can't hurt.

I am skeptical of EQ Marine with Les out until February, but I sent them a request for quotation.

Yeah, Harvey turned me on to his electronics place in Portland, Rodgers. I asked them to quote but won't hear from them until early next week. If I have to drag the boat around a few times to get everything done properly, so be it. I am excitedly anxious, of course, but not going to rush.

I would like to use them for service as time goes on, but right now I am looking for someone to provide a lot of add-ons like: Electronics Arch Kicker Heater Etc. I really appreciate the feedback. It is always good to get personal referrals when possible.

    PFD safety gear

I was wondering about that as I read this thread. I was also wondering about how cumbersome a vest with so much "stuff" attached would be. Since it is "cold" here in the PNW most of the time, how about a survival jacket? Would it be too bulky, too heavy, etc.?

Master Marine in Mt. Vernon, WA is the closest marine full service center to me. Have any of you C-Brats in NW WA had experience with them? I tried a search on the forum, but didn't learn anything. Could be my search ability. If so, I apologize in advance. They do service Suzuki outboards...

    Winter Boating

Looks like you are about 500 miles from Land Between the Lakes. Weather shouldn't be that bad. I haven't been there for 50 years, but my Pappy used to fish Ky Lake and Lake Barkley for crappie.

BrentB, regarding price, I want to focus on safety and value. I don't want to pay $10,000 for a GPS, but $2000 or $3000, yeah, with rationale. Radar - yes Secondary device - undecided

That decides it! Thanks so much for the input. C-Brats are awesome! Close to the same on the cruising vs fishing. Probably a little more cruising. I have never been into fishing, but I am retired and live on an island. I need to get my priorities right!

Halloween is over; you'll have to save that for next year! Any bag should have it's own flotation.

I am trying to determine the pros and cons of a Garmin GPSMAP7610xsv vs the 1040xs. I see the resolution is better with the 7610, it has two ports where the 1040 has 1, and it is video input/output capable while the 1040 is not. The price is $600 different. Any opinions regarding one over the...

Ha, ha! My inseam is only 34", but that requires a 2X! 33" waist in a medium, and 43" chest is a large! There is a lot of prep for getting safely onto the water. I need to figure out safety equipment, tool kit, backup systems, the best electronics, etc. I am hoping to get good input and...

    Choosing the right kicker

I like that philosophy. That thinking may steer me toward a 6HP.

Does the survival suit qualify as a PFD? I would have a difficult time finding the correct fit for the Mustang Survival Suit. Chest size requires a large. waist size requires a medium and inseam length requires a 2XL!

    Choosing the right kicker

Is it for trolling, "get back" or both? How fast will it move the boat?

    Choosing the right kicker

Do you troll with the 6hp? Does it "pound" due to being a single?
