    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Journey on - thanks for the links and info - I have a auto shop who can make up the hoes here locally but was uncertain the actual factory hose had to get the correct "T's" Do the hoses use a just a pipe thread or is it a flange? The link you sent shows both. By the way, I sent you a PM on...

Can someone tell me what type of hose fittings are on the ultraflex steering lines? Thanks

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

I just received my S1 autopilot and to my surprise there is no hoses or fittings supplied - but that's not too much of a problem - I know most guys talk about the pump being noisy up by the helm however both the manual and Raymarine tech service it should be located as close to the ram as...

    Tv. and mount

Just a little hint when buying a new set - You'll want to select a TV with an "external Transformer". In most cases if they have an external transformer they are 12 volts and therefore you may run them direct off your 12v system or use the transformer with A/C. The output voltage is on the...

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Boris, Thanks for the reply I have a few questions: 1) Is the pump on the S1 unit any quieter than the S1000 unit? 2) Do you know of a link I could download the instruction manual for the S1? 3) is the rudder angle unit used with the S1 a NMEA 0183 so I could use it with my Cummins...

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Am I correct in assuming that the S1 and S1G will still use the GPS hookup to the GPS and will follow routes right?? Thanks Mike

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Well I might be wrong, but for me I feel the S1000 is worthy enough for my use. If it wonders around a bit more than some of the other pilots I'll just accept it as the price of the unit. Quick question - as I mentioned, the remote is very important to me, does the other two units you...

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Not sure what you mean - I thought if you hit the "turn" button quickly it gives you a few degrees and if you hold it down it goes 10-12 degrees is that not true - Also if you're using a route on the GPS, won't it just go back to the original track? Thanks

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Hey Grumpy thanks for the reply - if I understand correctly, you can mount the pump any where in the system - Yours is the first I heard that was mounted aft since most mount them at the helm. Regarding the remote control - that's the main reason I'm buying the unit so i can be anywhere...

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

I thought I seen some T's on the back of the stock helm steering pump on my R-25 - does anyone know if they are T's and could be used with the S1000 or put there for another purpose? Thanks

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Thanks for the reply - I've been reading up and it seems the S1000 does pretty good at speeds over 4 mph. I like the price and I really like the remote since it gives me the opportunity to work from the cockpit and bow of the boat.

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Thinking about an autopilot for my Ranger 25 - seems a lot of guys are using the Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot System. It's designed for boats up to 25 ft and street price is around $900. Installation is easy as mounting three lines to the helm pump and mounting the computer. It feeds off...

    Fuel Gauge

Not sure when they changed over but on the 09 Rangers with the Cummins engine, they installed a NMEA 0183 fuel pickup sender which registers the fuel levels and consumption on the Smartcraft display showing levels down to the gallon - when I wired the NMEA of my Garmin GPS to the Cummins...

    Winterizing

I just called John at the factory and he advised me the fresh water pump is accessible by removing the heater at the floor of the helm. The forward bilge pump is accessible under the step. However, it should be dry since it's located so high.
