What I know is that the oil injection system on the 3 cylinder Johnson's of this era is that fuel would leak back into the oil reservoir and dilute the oil. This would obviously cause cylinder damage. The engine would eventually seize.

Hi, I'm looking at powering my c-dory. The manufacturers decal states 35hp maximum and a total weight for the boat at just under 800lbs. I am looking at a motor that is a 35hp and weighs around 160lbs. Does this sound like it is reasonable for the size of boat? Would love to hear some...

Having trouble figuring out what kind of wood was used for the exterior handles on the roof and sides of the smaller C-Dory's. The ones I'm taking off are extremely weathered and don't seem to be teak. Would they have used any other types of wood?

I like the bench seat idea. Especially the storage. I think it would take up most of the available space. I saw a pic online that had a seat that hung of the side of the boat and you simply removed it when not in use. Maybe time to make something. Thanks.

I agree, would want to have an anchor off the stern in anything more than a light breeze. I was more so wondering about installing an anchor that could be set and retrieved easily from the bow without having to crawl through the cuddy. Wondering if someone has already come up with something.

I haven't found any other threads about this so here goes. The anchor roller on my 14 was moved from the bow to the stern of the boat. I think I'll leave it as it could be useful for pulling all sorts of thing into the boat. My questions to all would be "what is used on 14 footers for a bow...

I'll try to get some pictures on here and maybe we can put this to rest. I can lift the front of the trailer off the ground fairly easy with the boat on the trailer if that helps.

I'll try to get a few pics. The owner had a 15hp motor on it and some bugger stole it some years back. He hasn't used it in years and says he rarely used it even when it did have a motor.
