windless or windlass? Installation on a 19' Angler

Bob, appreciate your comments and logic (as always) spot on. A key set of factors for me. The C-Dory website in the specs part of the 2 boats list the "average towing weight" of the 19 Angler at 3000 and the 22 Angler at 4100 lbs. Definitely have to take this with a grain of salt, so to speak...

windless or windlass? Installation on a 19' Angler

I may be in "same boat," my limit without changing vehicles is 3500lbs and the 19 appears to be the max, and that would require keeping it lite.

    65.5" Sturgeon

Great fish, my favorite stomping grounds. Definitely have to put your time in to get them. Used to be happy with 1 keeper per day with 3-4 guys fishing. What bait?? Big tide?? Perfect time, after big rain, muddy water. :thup

Need New Handheld Backup GPS - Thoughts?

yep, if the iPad has real GPS and uses the apps well (want to see it, not hear theory = vaporware), at $499 for that 9" screen maybe unreal for this use. See how fast a waterproof, shock resistant plexiglas holder comes to market. Almost sounds too good to be true. We know what that means!! I'm...

    Laptop preferences ?

Macbook (what I'm typing on and live by) iPad appears to be a joke, BUT, if they can get GPS and allow multitasking, could be a wonderful marine option, but certainly not in the initial offering. A large screen with potential in subsequent releases, now just a glorified iPod touch.

    Boats you have owned

from this wannabe, hopefully soon to end 16 Reinell, a true POS, everything worked on it for 4-5 days, too bad not consecutive. Even had to get towed once by the trash boat at Lake Oroville. 19 Cobalt, ended us using for fishing, dealer got pissed that I cleaned salmon on back deck. I reminded...

    Actual weight of 19/22 Angler?

Thanks, I'm in a similar, but worse bind. My Toyota Highlander Hybrid AWD will tow 3500 lbs. I am assuming that I could scoot by with a 19, but nothing bigger. I seems (or seemed) like the best pilot house fishing boat I could handle, I'm not willing to upgrade vehicles at this point. Watching...

136-foot tug grouded on Bligh Reef PWS AK

SF Bay has plenty of mud flats. I confess, have had to push out a 19' Cobalt from the mud; damn, the channel buoy must have moved. Couldn't get the mud out of my toenails for days.

    Parker Boats

Great east coast fishing boat, very solid, very heavy, high quality gas hogs. An absolute fishing machine. Not a cruiser, much more a great day boat. Very different than a C-Dory. I love the cockpit space.

    Mac Videoconferencing Question

Want to have a way to videoconf from my mac laptop to an iMac at work. Yes, a way to claim boat time as work time. Any experience doing this?? I assume what I need is a high speed card to plug in USB port. Don't think my iPhone 3GS will cut it.

    Just bought a 1985 22-angler

Welcome from this Sacto area wanna be. Lived there for 20 years and moving back this Jan from Fresno. Just hope the fish return. Congrats on a cool boat. Plan on ending my wanna be status down the road.

    Hello any Northern California C-brats???

This wannabe is in Fresno, soon moving back to Sacramento. Have fished the Delta and Sacramento River area for 20+ years, loved it, especially when there used to be fish (Sturgeon seem to be holding OK). Hopefully they will return, really miss Salmon fishing in the Sacramento area. Have been...

    Marinaut photos

Dave, many thanks for the response. The 22 Cruiser has a 4'6" cockpit, the 22 Angler has a 6'4" cockpit. For us fishermen (and buddies), a huge difference. Can't wait to see the 215 as in between those, but closer to the Cruiser. Sounds like cockpit size same as 23 Venture. Looking forward to...
