    Buying a C-Dory

From my previous non-C-Dory experience, those prices are actually reasonable. I always prefer DIY, rather pocket the labor than pay someone, even if the prices are fair

    GPS/sonar options for a 16 Cruiser

More free advice. keep it simple, get a Lowrance GPS/Fishfinder that will just plug in and have the dealer install it and be finished. I had a Lowrance LMS-360, an older unit, it was great and easily removable. And keep the back-up simple also, basic GPS and a VHF for a stow bag. Doesn't sound...

    GPS Tide Info

Just loaded Tide Graph on my iPhone, $1.99, seems great, but have to wait to try GPS interface. So easy and so many stations, almost like cheating :thup

    GPS Tide Info

May have found a different answer. http://www.tidegraph.com/page-home.php A tide chart that can be interactive for the iPhone, appears to be a very inexpensive download on iTunes. The area I fish has cell signal, I have the new iPhone that has a GPS, so it may be a very simple answer without...

    GPS Tide Info

Anyone have experience with this, any favorites at reasonable cost?? Hoping for a 5" GPS/ Fishfinder combo, ??for 16 Angler if I can find one in my budget?? Like to "chase the tides" when sturgeon fishing in the Sacramento Delta, looking for a way to have "real time" tide prediction at...

TC 24 For sale in Ft Meyers FL

CONGRATS: I too was drooling, the deal of the decade, not just the year. Figured the engines must be rotting, aka if it's too good to be true... Too bad wrong timing, wrong coast, otherwise would have been on a plane that day. Congrats

    AED on Board?

Excellent discussion. I have my own home made first aid kit I take on fishing expeditions, either on other boats, or my own (in recent past). I'm a doc so I can use more stuff. Focuses on trauma: bandages, sutures, lidocaine, pain meds, hemostats. Medical stuff include epinephrine, inhalers...

    AED on Board?

From another physician (Pediatric Intensive Care): What David said, great response. Invest in safety gear way more likely to be useful. I would expect a hoist and sling to be way more likely to save a life than an AED

    Public Apology

CW, I'll miss the fishing info and the tip on using Tiki Charters. I'm still a CD wannabe and the 22 Angler/24 Tomcat may be further off than I want, so I do understand. It's for fishing first and foremost. Hope you make it back. Bob (rdimand@mac.com on your mailing list)

    Saltwater Fishing Reel

I'm a huge Shimano fan, switched from Penn a few years ago. But prefer lever drags. A TLD 15 is awesome, as are many others. Ifyou want lever drag with level wind, the Charter Specials are impressive, great deals. Depends on your preferences
