    REDUCED-2006 23' CAPE CRUISER WITH 115 YAMAHA- only $36,500

James, I agree with many of your points. And am contemplating as the $$ are sitting waiting (first time in my lifetime!!) at 4.5%. But, I really won't be able to use it, have no vehicle (yet). No doubt this boat is a steal, and I would grab it, with better timing. I hope a fellow C-Brat grabs...

    REDUCED-2006 23' CAPE CRUISER WITH 115 YAMAHA- only $36,500

What a steal, the second or third boat I've seen here that I'd buy in 30 seconds, if it was a year or 2 from now. Damn, this is a steal!! I'm now working on rationalizing buying a boat to just have sit on the side of my house for a couple of years.

    Easy Cedar Plank Salmon

one of my favorites, very simple. A few variations 1) Soak the plank in red wine for about 2 hours (I use saved leftovers) 2) Load up the fish with spices and garlic (covered) 3) 1/2" covering of brown sugar, let sit for 4 hours, essentially brines the fish 4) cook on med-hi about 15-20 min...

    Fishtales Decommissioning

My note above got a polite reply from Scot, but talk is cheap. We'll see if there is walking to go with the talking. This is obscene. I did relate that one of the main differences between new and used is the "value" of the warranty. So far, underwhelming. Good luck on the new boat!! They need...

    Fishtales Decommissioning

I do hope the factory is listening. I will be buying a boat in the next 12-24 months. The factory is blowing it, they just keep digging it deeper and deeper, warranty service is a huge issue. a used boat appears more likely, due to quality/service. How these things are handled in the next...

    Tomcats, Young and Old

What is the weight on a trailer difference between a 24 and 25TC?? Enough to require a bigger tow vehicle?? Enough to be part of the equation??

    new iPhone

I have one, great, but not perfect. The camera is OK, but for web stuff it is very slow. And the keyboard sucks, but I'm happy overall. The new one is supposed to fix the slowness for the web, don't know about the camera. Not sure if I'll upgrade, will wait to see.

    new Boat Electronics

Interesting how this hardware application seems to lag the computer biz. Not clear what $5-7K get above $3K is you are willing to have 2 screens. The integration comes at a huge price. But with PC's (clearly way more competition), the prices have tumbled. The Furuno 1715 and a Hummingbird 797...

    C-Dory Pro Angler 25

That's a boat I'd be chasing!! A trailerable walk around, sweet!! But fishing comes ahead of cruising. The price seems reasonable, but I'd probably rip out the sink/stove for better seating, the flybridge would be a plus. Ahhhh, someday. But a 22 Angler may be way more cost effective. :love

cracks, leaks, foam, and old bad work.

from another thread I errantly posted this in, meant for here: I'm proud to be a wannabe. My next boat will most likely be a 22 Angler, most likely used. I really enjoy hearing the good and bad, I'm here mainly to listen and learn. It's takes the good and the bad to learn and gain knowledge...

    New construction method?

I'm proud to be a wannabe. My next boat will most likely be a 22 Angler, most likely used. I really enjoy hearing the good and bad, I'm here mainly to listen and learn. It's takes the good and the bad to learn and gain knowledge. I imagine I'm like most wannabes, with a lot of boating...

    dry ice for ice chest

it's all about insulation and temperature gradients. I had a large ice chest I lined with 1.5' foil backed styrofoam and a tight lid of same, essentially and ice chest in an ice chest, with dry ice inside it would last many days, including 100+ degrees of Sacramento heat. I also used to use the...

    New vs Used

I'm in the used boat arena. I have bought 4 boats, 2 new, 2 used. Used way better value, but I enjoy, redoing, tinkering, installing stuff, etc. Love to find a 10-15 year old 22 Angler, the more stripped, the better. Would be a fun 6 months to get it where I'd want it. The hit on a new boat is...
