    Widespread Blistering of Hull

Ditto, this is BS in that new of a boat. I had a Cobalt 193, kept in the Sacramento river 2 years. Major outdrive galvanic problems, required repainting. BUT the gelcoat was perfect after scrubbing. PERFECT, not 1 blister, and no bottom paint. I agree, go after them.

    cd 25 tow vehicle

I had similar Jeeps with a 16 ft bow rider, it was "OK," but I wouldn't even use them on a 22, let alone a 25 if you are dealing with anything more than local stuff.

    No one pays full price...

I have bought 3 new boats in the past, and always used Boat Show prices as a non-confrontational entry point. Helps to do homework and have the flyer from the boat show. At last year's San Diego Show, the C-Dorys definitely had discounted boat show prices. There are still some new 2007's out...

Fuel Numbers For Hull Similar To A Venture 26

that's very impressive!! 3.7 mpg @ 31 mph from a 200 HP Honda on a 26' boat is amazing. Gotta look into that. Any guesstimates of the on trailer weight??

    which Garmin?

Looking at that unit, it's hard to justify the megathousands for some of the "integrated" units. Especially as chasing tides is much of what we do chasing sturgeon in the delta.

    05/14 - 05/18 - 6th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

yes, CMC went co-ed right after I graduated  Claremont is very different, just an LA suburb, back then it was all hills and orange groves. I loved it.

    05/14 - 05/18 - 6th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

WOW!! Dr. Bob, Claremont, which campus?? I'm a CMC (Claremont Men's College) Alum '76. The other Dr. Bob. My wife and I would realllllllly love to see a 22 Angler and a 24 Tom Cat, and meet some of the brats. We live in Fresno, after 20 years in Sacramento. Anyone coming with these?? Or any...

    To Baja by L-Dory

Thanks for the update. Loreto is great, old style baja, glad to hear it hasn't lost it's flavor. Been there 50 times, but not in about 4 years. My dad, who passed away last year, set up 3 guys with their own Pangas, first class skippers. The best is named Placido, can get his info for anyone...

    tough economic times

You are right, it is disgusting, our addiction has "fueled" this mess. We have allowed ourselves to be gouged. That's why efficiency is so big to me. I'll stop, don't want to derail this thread too much, that's why I don't want a "gas hog" boat. I'll put my $$ elsewhere. I don't need a 250+ HP...

    tough economic times

I must respectfully say those figures don't fit reality, as expressed in annual figures. Exxon, as just one example: 2007 $40.6B profits on $377.6 B sales, is 10.8% NET profit. Somewhere they make almost 11 cents pure profit on every dollar of sales, not just a few pennies on each gallon. So...

Towing with a Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier

At least where I have launched, won't even try a hefty boat without 4WD. I've watched too many people slide in the slime (or even just wet pavement), when I just pulled my 5,000lb rig out without any problems.

    Oregon Sturgeon Guides

Many thanks, great suggestions. I'm jazzed about checking out this area as much of the SF bay and delta area seems to be burning out for fishing (I pray just a bad run). My favorite is chasing sturgeon, so these look great, catching and releasing the big ones would be a blast. I hope to be able...

Southern California Boat Show- Loa Angeles

Too bad, the 22 Angler continues to be the ugly duckling. I went to last year's San Diego show, despite being told it would be there, no room on the truck, so a no show.

Planning a trip to Ft. Stevens end of July. Anyone have any favorite fishing guides to recommend?? Doesn't have to be right there, will have a RV and car. TIA, Bob

    Ugliest boat afloat ?

I was recently marsh fishing outside of New Orleans, saw quite a number of Oyster Boats, here is one of the them. I was afraid to photograph the crew. I also found a "luxury version"

    24 Tomcat, weight and towing

It seems this may be the boat for us. What is the realistic trailer weight of a moderately equipped 24 TC?? What vehicles work for towing?? Couldn't find this for the 24 specifically in searches. TIA, Bob
