downrigger location & opinions on best puller.

Recreate LOL More kids means cheaper puller - I guess that’s why my buddy with 7 kids pulls his pots by hand ! On another thread ( not sure if it was this site) I read about a Scotty base breaking off with his pot puller attached and it went to the deep - just a note- if your using any type...

22' model - best repower choice

Thanks Bob that is exactly what I do I just read into your earlier explanation too much and got a little confused. As far as trim tabs I would rather use them to balance the boat out at speed - if it were leaning port or starboard (because of uneven load or people moving on board ) adjust...

Black box is interesting for sure - I’m going to check more into it thanks for forwarding the link - are you talking 10 miles due West? That’s in 300 ft + water ( just looked at navionics site ) I use the same tackle for salmon :thup

downrigger location & opinions on best puller.

When I fished in CA off Bodega Bay for many years, I used SS cable with a black box set to .65 V and did great sucking salmonids and sharks into the gear. Good luck with your decision. Just starting to fish Bodega with my own boat - fished in others for a few years and can’t wait for salmon...

22' model - best repower choice

I have to trim/tilt the motor to bring the bow up in following seas or above 8 knots on flat water with my permatrim now installed. If you dropped your motor down above planing speed your boat wouldn’t bow steer? When my prop shaft is level (trim up a little) - the bottom of my boat is level...

22' model - best repower choice

I added a permatrim on my 2019 Yamaha 90 and noticed I had to trim the motor more while going past 8-9 knots or it would bow steer starboard. Previously it would bow steer at a higher speed so I’m very happy in chop bow down going slow :thup I’m assuming along with other advantages trim tabs...

downrigger location & opinions on best puller.

I installed a Cisco fishing system - http://www.ciscofishingsystemsltd.com Works great and allows you to mount your downriggers/ pot puller or anything that mounts to your Scotty or Cannon plates on a aluminum channel where your able to slide forward or aft. I mounted mine just forward of the...

18th Annual Delta and Bay Extravaganza

Fishwisher- is that Dale Gillespie’s old boat? Yes it is! So far it has been a great boat and I have done some improvements. I wrote to Dale on his Blog but haven’t heard back from him- had a few questions about some mods he did.

I too would like the details - I’m unable to make the whole trip but it would be fun to cruise a short leg with you all.

    Toyotomi NS 2800 issue.

I ran the heater for almost an hour and it burned off whatever was stuck on there :D Thanks for the idea Bob ! Sometimes I think too much into problems and I’m glad this was a simple fix. The heater works great and will cook me out of the cabin if I’m not careful.
