    Cheap cabin heat...Mr. Heater propane?

I have a Mr. Heater on a homemade mount in the back. It can also fold flat to cook food or water. A half hour in our 16 will roast you out. As I've learned, propane heat inside fogs the windows bad. It's OK if moving and there is some fresh air flow. We also have a CO detector but, we would...

    Pain free insulation solution

I refuse to believe that a 40 mil coat has an R-11 value. If this were true, 4 coats would have insulated the walls in my house. :|

    Hot Water Heaters

Although I don't use it on the boat, I have a Coleman Hot Water on Demand system which I take camping. It's rechargeable and uses 1 pound propane tanks to heat the water. It cooks the water so fast, it almost wastes it. We fill our solar shower with it. You can put any water through it but, we...

    Wiper Sprayers

We have a 1980 Ford LN 600 at our work that has a manually operated foot pump for the squirters. It's fairly small and sturdy and puts out enough to cover a large windshield. It might be hard to find but, a truck salvage yard might have one. I'd post a picture but, our old trucks are kept in a...

    Right of way!

I personally feel that all boaters need a license and vessel saftey check. Around Michigan, that would take 3/4 of them off the water. Including the fishing fools who like to drop anchor in the middle of a river.

    porta potty privacy

We have a set of shades that we made for the windows inside and the camperback provides good cover for the rear (no pun intended). Before I got the camperback, we used a blanket with a set of spring loaded hand clamps and attached it to the back of the roof. Simple and easy.

    Radar question

Looks like waves to me as well. Our 16 has it's tipsy days on the water and shows waves blinking in and out with the Garmin.

Sea Beagle II in Traverse Bay

Wow! Our quiet night at Power Island changed dramatically this morning. Our light west winds which we are sheltered from turned to the northeast at 25 mph. 2 foot waves hitting us sideways 20 feet from the shore. The passing thunderstorms wasn't a big deal this morning but, this winds are a...

    Nav Lights Out

I've done the led switch on my boat and trailer. The new anchor light draws 175 milliamps. And, it's way brighter. The site I got them from was www.superbrightleds.com By the way, I've had light problems as well and in my case it was the spade connector on the back of the switch.
