    Reefmadness TC255 for Sale

Gene, congrats and condolences on the sale of the TomCat; I can appreciate the bittersweet time when you say good-bye to a great boat. That said, this whole story brings a big ol' smile to my face. Congratulations to Pat and Karin!

    Norcold refrigerator problem

As another option, look for an RV repair service near you. Norcold and Dometic refrigerators are widely used on RVs.

    Cell Carriers or Service

We were early adopters, from back in the bag phone days. There was a time when we each had two cell phones, Sprint and whatever Verizon was before it became Verizon. With our wandering lifestyle, this worked when we were in areas that had mediocre Verizon coverage. We dumped the Sprint...

    Towing speed (?)

With the towing we did with Wild Blue and still do with our RV rig, 65mph is my max. Most trailer tires are speed rated at 65. Yes, people blow by us all the time, towing bigger boats, travel trailers, and cargo trailers. Those people are what we call: not too bright. When your retired time...

    C-dory 25 or 26 tow weight question.

Good luck with the search. When we bought our 25, the weight on the trailer was listed as 6,500 pounds. I had a one-ton Dodge campervan with an 8,400 pound towing capacity, so I thought we were good. Another 25 owner reached out and said the factory numbers weren't realistic, and to expect...

    c dory 25

There is a drain in the shower/head compartment. The shower water goes into a shower-box and is pumped overboard. Easy. At times, when conserving water, we put a solar shower on the cabin top and ran the hose from that into the head compartment. Again, the water goes into the drain, to the...

    25' cruiser dimensions

Ours, with a radar arch and the over-all white light just above the radar, on a King Saltwater Series trailer would just squeek under a 12' door on the storage unit. Length on the trailer (with the motor down) was 32', add more for the motor raised, 9' width, measured at the side bunks which...

    Finger Lakes/West Erie Canal Adventure

I'm enjoying your Erie Canal cruise - thanks for sharing. It was one of the high-lights during our time with Wild Blue. Your posts here bring back some great memories. I've long considered the Erie Canal a national treasure that every cruising boater should take the opportunity to enjoy...

    Passenger Capacities of different C-dorys??

Specifically: (Length X Beam)/15 will give you that "official" number. I trust reading this thread will convince you that isn't a particularly safe (and absolutely not comfortable) number of people + gear. Take fewer people and gear, make more trips.

    Passenger Capacities of different C-dorys??

With a C-Dory, (to me) it is more than just the weight/passenger capacity - it becomes an issue of: where do you put people? In our 25, with 4 souls on board, if everyone was in the cabin, you'd have one person at the helm and 3 at the dinette... and you'd feel the list. You could balance it...

    Potential TomCat availability!

Congrats on the Nordic, Tom; spectacular boat! I was close... not to buying a Nordic Tug - I had June 6th in the "When will Tom sell the TomCat?" pool. Now you won't have to be concerned about single-handing your TomCat through a lock. Although, the TomCat would make an outstanding...

    Singlehanded locking

Start working out. We did the Erie Canal and Trent/Severn with the two of us: Joan on the bow, I would pull the boat up to the line in the canal and bring the stern in, then go back to the cockpit. Heavy rubber gloves, a fixed length boat pole, fenders on both sides. On the Hudson River, the...

Current Atlas: Juan de Fuca Strait to Strait of Georgia

For the years I drove commercial whale watch boats in the San Juans, that book was essential. Knowing what to expect by putting the wind and weather forecasts with the information in this book to determine the best routing and timing. I like the idea of having the information on an app...

    05/13 - 05/16 - Friday Harbor CBGT 2021

Sounds like a good time! I do miss that area and this gathering. Question for Greg: Who did you contact to get permission to fly a drone so close to the airport? My "little" drone is a Mavic Mini, and it won't authorize take-off within 5 miles of an airport. Great images, btw.

    Orpine Boat Soap?

Hey, Steve - no experience with that Boat Soap, but when we got our current motorhome (with full body paint), Winnebago recommended using baby shampoo to keep from stripping the wax off. Happy to report that has worked well for us. I now use it on the car, the bikes, even the cargo trailer.

Daydream Will be in Blaine Marina this Summer!

You are gonna get spolt (that's Texas talk for "spoiled") - it is nice to just bop to the boat and take off; no messing with launching, parking a trailer, and retrieving. You will probably find that there will be days when you just go down to the boat to take a nap, maybe visit with your dock...

Non Boating C-Brat Logistical NE corner help

Hi Harvey - Pat has been posting on Facebook when time allows. He is making the miles and having to deal a lot with Mother Nature. Now in the northeast, and all the traffic. Perseverance... getting to all 4 corners of the US in 21 days. I like to ride, but that is serious hardcore.
