I want to replace the steering wheel on my ‘83 C-Dory and have a few questions:
- Does my C-Dory have a standard 3/4” tapered steering shaft?
- What sort of steering wheel puller should I use to replace the old wheel?
- Any other tips for removing the old wheel?
I’ve done this job a few times...
Are the burgees & patches still available as shown at this link?

Would it be possible to offer more items using the same logo, like t-shirts or a hat with the patch already sewn on?
I recently acquired a 1983 22 Classic with an old 20” plastic hatch over the v-berth. It is missing both latching arms and the plastic window is badly faded and “crazed”. What do you recommend as a replacement? I want something durable and easy to install.
It could well be a bogus ad. At least there is cause for caution. For instance, the photos are very limited, and I don’t see any hull numbers on the boat.
My wife and I recently acquired a 1983 C-Dory 22 with a Honda 90hp outboard. The seller stated the motor is a 2001 but the sticker on the engine cover says it meets CA 2008 emissions standards. How do I verify what model year this engine really is? Could be helpful when it’s time to obtain parts.
Just spotted this 23 Venture with twins in Sonoma, CA, the other day. Price seems more than reasonable but the boat looks like it’s been sitting a long time and may need some work…

When we had our 16 we repowered it from an old 2-stroke to a Mercury 60hp EFI four-stroke. It was no problem. The four-stroke was bigger & heavier but it worked very well on the boat. Here’s a pic and you can see the boat sits nicely with the new motor. We did not run a kicker, however.
