EQ Marine & the Marinaut 215

Mark – the hull and deck floor are cored with one inch eight pound high density foam. The cabin top, gunnels and other areas that may have a person standing on it is one half inch eight pound high density foam. The eight pound high density foam is solid, light and highly resistant to water...

Law Firm Finds Success Targeting Those Who Post Copyrighted

Bob – I think this guy is a little full of himself and way behind the times. When I read it, I thought his terminology about the internet and public forms was a little dated. It was written in 1994 and that is ancient in terms of the internet. From my reading of the article and his comments...

Law Firm Finds Success Targeting Those Who Post Copyrighted

D.D. - I think you are missing the point of Jims side of this issue. He has a talent very few of us on this site have. One example is this photo he created in his album. His argument is; it should not be used by others without his approval. I see his point and agree with him. Where he and I...

Law Firm Finds Success Targeting Those Who Post Copyrighted

Bob – that depends, I wish I had all the answers, but I don’t. If I copied the following and did not credit JimB with it as a copy of his post on the previous page, that would be unethical and infringement. If I posted it somewhere else and just said I copied this from another site, it could be...

Law Firm Finds Success Targeting Those Who Post Copyrighted

Lately I have tended to avoid controversial threads but I am going to add my 2 cents in here. The internet has changed the world and it is difficult to apply old standards to it. What is intellectual property and what is not? Someone puts a billboard up on the freeway for everyone to see and...

EQ Marine & the Marinaut 215

John – I will attempt to explain how the fuel tanks are mounted. Notice the knuckle (ridge) a little over half way down on each side in this photo. The tanks sit just above these. When the one piece floor is added, it is sealed around this knuckle and a pedestal is molded in for the tank to be...

Mike – they look good and will often times look better on the boat. How is the strength of the starboard verses the aluminum? Dave www.tolandmarine.com

EQ Marine & the Marinaut 215

Now that it is time to market and sell the Marinaut 215, we knew it would be difficult to do the rigging and various custom work a user would want and continue to build boats, so we decided to look for a dealer that is well respected and has experience rigging, customizing and selling boats...

    Draining fuel tanks

I cut a lot of your post because I want to deal with just this part, not the rest because this is how I had planned on getting un-used gas out of my tanks. You have a plastic oil extractor designed for petroleum products. You pump it to create a vacuum then place a plastic hose in the fuel...

    V-Lock Mounting Device

Warren – at the CBGT I talked to Roger (SeaDNA) about possibilities of a Live Bait Well for the Marinaut. He came up with a good idea for one to fit in the engine well. I liked it so much I am designing a portable 10 gallon live bait well to fit in the engine well. If it works, I will use the...

    Ethanol Free Gass

For those of you in the Olympia area looking for ethanol free gas there is a CFN station at the corner of Thurston Ave NE and Adams Street NE. It is two blocks west of the southeast end of Bud Inlet. Their mid grade are the only pumps with ethanol free gas. If you launch at Swantown, it is on...

    Draining fuel tanks

I have not tried it but I would think those vacuum pumps that suck out engine oil would also work for fuel. Usually your fuel level is not full at the end of the season so you would not be extracting a lot of gas. I know they make a 3.5 gallon size, maybe larger. Dave www.tolandmarine.com

    V-Lock Mounting Device

When I saw these, I thought what a great idea and design. I bookmarked his site for future reference and ordering. I can think of many uses for them on the Marinaut. Dave www.tolandmarine.com

A Mechanical Idiot Needs An Explanation

Pat – the reason your search came up without the info you were seeking is you left out one important word. I changed the search string to “red indicator ring on trailer hub” and got many good hits for the hubs. But then I use bing instead of google and that could be a factor also. Dave...

    Posting Photos That Disappear!!!

Joe – you are 100% correct. There are a couple of unlikely scenarios that can happen when the photo is linked to an outside site. 1. The image can change to one that is objectionable to the administrators and/or the members. For instance you link to one of the calendar images mentioned in...

    Posting Photos That Disappear!!!

Harvey – I waited to change the photo until someone posted a message below my post, so it would be obvious that the change occurred after the time for editing the post had passed. As long as the photo stays in the album or in a folder in your album that it was linked to, it will be displayed in...

    Posting Photos That Disappear!!!

Harvey – your assumption is wrong. Position in you photo folder has nothing to do with the position of the photo in you post when you link to severel photos. I went into my photo album and reordered the six images displayed earlier in this thread and nothing changes to the images or their...

    Posting Photos That Disappear!!!

It worked – as you will notice the images have changed. If you don’t remember what was where, the text above each image describes the Image as it used to be when I created this post yesterday. Moving photos in your album will not cause it to disappear in a post as long as it remains in the...

    Posting Photos That Disappear!!!

Joe – let’s try a few experiments. I have posted three images below. Image one is red with the text image one in it. Image two is white with the text image two in it. Image three is blue with the text image three in it. Quote this entire post so there is a copy of it in your post. I think...
