    Are you hunkering down?

Even after all the disease trauma in Seattle by sometime next month only 2% of us will have contracted the virus. Herd immunity is likely not possible until a vaccine is widely available.

    Are you hunkering down?

Our local naval shipyard, 25K workers and service people on site, is planning on going from most people working, to just about all people. Monitoring, testing, masks, sick and administrative leave are expected to continue to keep all people healthy. Most of us are expecting it to work. It can...

    Are you hunkering down?

In my lifetime those epidemics are once every ten years. Often enough that we need a beefed up public health system at the ready. And that doesn't include polio.

Per an aviation site, having a friend and foe option.

And I really don't consider those on the 'foe' list as enemies. The tags come from old WWII terminology, still used, to identify radar blips a friendlies or not.

Per an aviation site, having a friend and foe option.

These are trying times. I still recommend a way of blocking certain viewers. Then they can say what the want, and I do not have to read what I do not want. I will not explain why, it is just nicer not to.

    Are you hunkering down?

On the social distancing scale we have kept ourselves about 10 points stricter than the governor's call. When we go to the grocer's if there are more than a dozen or so cars out front we don't stop. Yesterday I returned at 7am, and most of the time in the store I could not see another shopper...

God bless both of you, and how frightening.

    Are you hunkering down?

Dr Bob, I am diabetic producing no insulin, but because I keep A1cs below 5 (for other complications) I am constantly being told I am not diabetic. After a somewhat disastrous ER visit two years ago for a finger cellulitis I have managed to stockpile a small supply of Cephalexin. My prayers...

    Are you hunkering down?

There is preliminary evidence that Washington State is approaching its spike and things could be leveling off. This is not 'victory'. Evergreen hospital who bore the brunt of this is seeing things leveling down. Ninety five EMS people who were the front line have reported only one person...

    Postponed - 05/14 - 05/17 - 2020 Friday Harbor CBGT

On an other blog I commented that I have generally been seeing people observe social distancing in Washington State. Another poster responded that in Kent WA he was seeing a lot of large groups in close contact with one another. The new public order gives police the authority to tell people to...

    Are you hunkering down?

Many of us are concerned about restaurant workers, hotel staff, grocery workers, and other low paid people, the children and how they will survive the recession and dangers they are experiencing. And we all need to be concerned for lower middle class people who have been laid off. Foreign...

    Are you hunkering down?

Bell Harbor Marina in Seattle is pretty empty, and I took a bus ride, only 3-4 people in the whole bus, and that quit collecting fares. This minimizes the driver from having to interact with people. Besides health workers, grocery people are probably the most exposed to others. I hope...

    Are you hunkering down?

We did our now weekly shop of the week, and I was surprised that there were still a lot of empty shelves. No hamburger and a couple other items we wanted were not there. I always have a well stocked pantry and freezer. What are people doing with all that food they are buying? We are buying...

Boat form please not your political agenda

One of the main pieces of evidence is from more and more congressional districts which have become so safe for incumbents, and generally for the party who elects them. Voters like their representative and re-elect them time after time. They dislike representatives from the other party.

Boat form please not your political agenda

I used to joke at our Church that the main problem with elected officials is that they are doing what their voters wanted them to do.

Boat form please not your political agenda

Many web sites have a way of blocking individual posters. I am on a large aviation site, they use the old military term Friend or Foe. The people I block are not foes, but just ones who repeatedly post in a manner that I don't want to see. The site does show me that they posted, and it is on...

    Are you hunkering down?

We have pushed our social distancing to about the 85% level. Two friends are joining me on a putt putt up the Duwamish River. It should be fun, and a nice way of doing something.

    01/25 - 01/26 - 2020 Seattle Boat Show CBGT

Brother and a friend joined wife and I for our visit to the boat show. It was a lot of fun. Here are my observations: C-Dory booth people were not impolite, but not at all interested in owners coming and visiting. Ranger Tug people as always very welcoming. I was fascinated that they are...

    Seattle Boat Show CBGT details

We went over yesterday- got caught in the post 3pm traffic jam, missed the 5pm one. We likely will walk from the ferry over there. We did spot the likely building yesterday. We are back in Bremerton tonight.

    For those who like Ethanol

Marinas around here all seem to carry non-ethanol fuel. But I will admit I don't pay much attention to the price. ps - I prefer non-political comments. I see no need to inflict my political views to other readers on this forum.
