    Cabin water leak

Widget had water coming in because several of the screws holding the brass stem guard on had penetrated the hull. With the boat on the trailer bow lower than stern you can wait to see if any drips form around the screws or backout the ones below the water line and watch the stream! I sealed them...

    BRAZO - North Channel 2009

Highly recommend Oak Bay, Benjamin Islands and the abandoned harbor at Cockburn Island for over night anchorage/tie-ups.

Need to replace throttle/shift control cables Honda 90

Dave, Thanks for the offer of the shop manual, I have one and I find it's format lacking details. I was mainly concerned about the fittings on the ends of the cables. Looks like this will be a project for the end of the season with Widget in the backyard.

Need to replace throttle/shift control cables Honda 90

Any have advice/experience replacing the control cables? I put the motor in full up tilt forgetting the un-inflated raft was stored in the splashwell and put a perminent kink in the cables. I tried to straighten them and they do function but with way too much resistance. Is this a project best...

    hard starting honda 90

It doesn't take an engineer to know the all or nothing approach(solenoid) to a choke is not the way to keep the engine running when cold started. Mine (Honda 90) has always started but always been difficult to keep it running until 3 or 4 starts gets it warm enough to continue running. Poor...

    Wireless Laptop?

I'm using AT&T air card mainly because of better coverage on the coast of Maine. The speed varies from true broadband speed to dsl but is always better than dial-up. Been satisfied with it in this area. 2 year contract $49/month unlimited time.

Water intrusion on 2005 22' cruiser

My "plastic" fitting leaked around the mounting flange and through the mounting screws that penetrated the bulkhead wall. Took several tries to figure out it wasn't just a loose plug.

    Harmonic resonance from outboard

With my Honda 90 it is definitely the Solas aluminum prop; no squeal with a four blade composite prop. Problem is the ComProp is a lot slower on top end so I put up with the noise at no wake speeds and carry the platic prop for a spare.

    Wandering Down East Maine

Dun et al, Looks like we'll be tied-up with our son & wife that weekend. We're not sure she can take the wave action. Sorry to hear about Rick, hope that will not interfere with the Rideau trip for them. We're socked in with fog for the past two days here on Frenchman Bay. Dave
