    Compass location in C-22 Cruiser

There is a lot is excellent information in these forums about compass location, much of it thanks to Bob W.: http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... s+location I'm trying to save some experimenting in regard to relocating the compass on my new used C-22 Cruiser. The compass was located...

Hi Wayne, I think it was your photos that I was thinking of. Nice work! I may have some detail questions when I get working on this. Thanks for sharing.

Correct propeller pitch for 10 hp kicker

Thanks. By 10% clearance do we mean 10% of the prop diameter, or 10% of the distance from shaft center to tip of skeg? If I measure from shaft center to the bottom of the anti-cavitation plate, I get 4 5/8". That would mean that this 8.7" prop would have close to 9/16" clearance from blade...

Modifying dinette table and seats to convert to berth

Thanks for all the info. I think the post I was thinking of was that of an owner who created their own design, fixing the faults of the factory design. If anyone can find this one, please post a link.

Modifying dinette table and seats to convert to berth

I remember reading a post or viewing photos a while ago showing how a C-Dory owner had modified the dinette table and seats to be easily converted to a berth. I can't find it now. Does anyone remember where this info is or who posted it? Thanks.

Correct propeller pitch for 10 hp kicker

Thanks guys. I see that Tohatsu makes a prop with those specs: Tohatsu Part No. 3B2B645110 PROPELLER (8.7d X 5p) 4-BLADE HIGH THRUST for $72. I have choices.

Correct propeller pitch for 10 hp kicker

Thanks Gary. Using the calculator at http://www.csgnetwork.com/marinepropcalc.html I input this info: Speed: 6.1 mph (C-22 hull speed) Gear Ratio: 2.08:1 Prop Pitch: 5 (lowest I can find at Tohatsu) Slip: 30% (a guess) And I get 3828 RPM. The 9.8 owner's manual says that the motor...

Correct propeller pitch for 10 hp kicker

Hello, I've acquired a 9.8 Nissan/Tohatsu 4-stroke for use as the kicker on my C-22 Cruiser. The prop and spare that came with it are identical: Diameter 8.5, 3-blade, Pitch: 9. The original owner used it to push an inflatable. Does this sound like an OK prop for use as a kicker on a C-22...

    New/Old Tohatsu kicker

Thanks for all the info. I looked up the impeller at the Tohatsu/Nissan parts site and it goes for $18.43. The gaskets are a few dollars each. Done deal!

    New/Old Tohatsu kicker

It looks like I will be acquiring an "almost new" 2007 Nissan/Tohatsu 9.8 for the kicker on my C-22 Cruiser. The seller says that it only has 20 hours on it. I talked to the mechanic that tested it out and he agrees it is "like new." Proper storage, draining fuel, no ethanol gas all have been...

    Shaft length range for kicker

Thanks folks. Those are the answers I needed. I'm looking at a Nissan/Tohatsu 9.8 twin. It sounds like it will work fine.

    Shaft length range for kicker

Hello, I almost own a 2000 C-22 Cruiser (just need to go and pick it up...). It has a Honda 90 main but no kicker. It sounds like a Mini-jacker is the bracket of choice to mount a kicker. What shaft lengths will work on a C-22? I imagine "longer is better," but I want to know what I can...

Charles-- Do you have a link to the anti-corrosion spray you mentioned? I think I've found everything else that has been mentioned. Thanks everyone.

Honda 90 adding oil pressure gauge

Has anyone added an oil pressure gauge to an older (1990) Honda outboard? I've got the standard light and buzzer, but I really like the information I get from seeing the actual oil pressure. I've done this in vehicles many times--just plumb in "T" and a nipple, put the original pressure...

    Honda 90 newbie questions

Hi Charles, Thanks a bunch for the thorough answers. I'll check West Marine for the products. I may have questions on sources if I don't find something there. We have a Honda outboard dealer in Billings, but they are probably not familiar with anything salty. I have changed the timing belt...

    Honda 90 newbie questions

We will soon own a Honda BF90A attached to a C-Dory 22 Cruiser. Both are 1990 vintage. The boat and motor have been in storage for several years. We will be bringing the boat to Montana for a year or so for some outfitting and then move it to its permanent home in Juneau. There is no kicker...

Fresh Water vs. Salt Water motor

I'm looking at purchasing a C-Dory 22 that has a Yamaha 80 as the main engine. I'm pretty sure this boat has never been in salt water, and I intend to use it in salt water. I understand that Mercury offers a salt water version that has the zincs installed, and maybe has other mods also. Does...
