    Boat sold

There are already instructions to sellers in the boats for sale forum. They read: "PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE POSTING YOUR AD <stuff clipped> Once your boat has sold or is no longer available, please reply to your original post and/or drop me or TyBoo a PM so we can remove your...

    Boat sold

The issue is that the admins of the site often do not get notified that a boat has sold and the original poster doesn't put any notice on their ad. If the admins are notified, they can do something about it. If not...

    Gps with built in antenna

I've had mine mounted inside the cabin with no external antenna for years. No problems. Signal passes through fiberglass quite well.

‘Deadliest Catch’ boat capsizes, 3 dead

Bob, unless the entrance is particularly shallow, my experience has been that crossing the bar is easiest on an incoming tide as it tends to flatten out the swells (e.g. it counteracts the outgoing flow of the river). This is especially the case on the Columbia river bar as the lower sections...

    VHF Repair Possibilities

I don't know the company but I'd be shocked if one can get a radio repaired and shipped back and forth for less than what it cost to buy a new one. So I'll be interested in hearing the final story.

    interlocking Teak tiles

I came across these in my Facebook feed the other day. They are similar to the rubber deck tiles in installation but have teak topping. They might be of interest to a brat. @$8.40/sq ft. they are not that much more expensive than the dry deck tiles ($6.29/sq ft at West Marine).

What VHF Do You Have Now and Why

Harvey, I have two fixed mount VHF's - both are Std. Horizon models. One is the 2200 with AIS and GPS the other is (I believe) a 2100 which has AIS but not it's own GPS. Each is hooked into an independent chart plotter (with the chart plotter proving the coordinates to the older radio). As to...

    Help sourcing window latch

There's one in the water at the bottom of the boat ramp in Kenmore WA. :-) But I found it easier to order a new one than to continue to search for it in my swimsuit in Dec. :D

    Fish & Chips

Albacore fish and chips in Astoria. Don't know the name of the place but it's served out of a boat converted to a restaurant up on the hill above the maritime museum. It always has a long line and there's a good reason for that.

    R41 - Hull #1 photo's

The beauty of the IPS drives is that the boat can go forward, backward or sideways with a simple joystick control. It can even be set to hold position and direction. Docking this 41 footer will be as easy (or easier) than docking a small C-dory.

cruising with only one twin in the water

If substantial savings is a concern, the 90 + kicker is the better overall plan. Total cost of ownership for twins is higher and if you spend a lot of time trolling (or cruising at displacement speeds), it's better to put those hours on the less expensive kicker.

Please give me some sound advise

If you plan on regularly cruising at 25-26mph in a 25' Cruiser in the area around Whidbey, you may be disappointed as there are not too many days when one can comfortably go 25-26mph in a C-Dory. 25-26 cruising will be days when there is very little chop. That said, the Honda 135 and Honda...
