90HP Honda VS 115 HP Suzuki

Great price. A steel. If he had it serviced the dealer should have a reasonable guess. Total hours are not very important if the motor has had regular maintenance. Lots of 90's over 5,000 hours. We love Whidbey Island, but halibut like the slab in your photos are rare. Our resident nerd Bill...

90HP Honda VS 115 HP Suzuki

yep, it's a big one, and after several thousand hours running the 90 carb Honda I wouldn't upgrade to a 115 of any breed. Gain very little. After 37 years in the USN I'm careful not to part with the green unless I can get value. Said before YMMV. Dusty. At 92 guess I'm a little opinionated!

90HP Honda VS 115 HP Suzuki

Don't buy anything until you run the 115 Honda. Smooth, quiet, economical, and strong. Detuned 150. On the Mar. 21.5 it's a jewel. My choice, but YMMV -- Dusty. And Merry Christmas to all!

    Panama Canal

El and Bill, Have a great trip. My four years in Canal Zone and Chile -- and countries in between -- bring back memories. Before air conditioning and rare electricity. OooooHH. "Don't swim with sharks!!" Dusty

    I Pad 2 Jailbreak

I use iNavX and aye tides. Like both very much, and they are very easy to use. No jailbreak needed. Dusty

Any of you iPad users have iNAVX? Looks good to me, and I'll probably get it for my 32 WiFi and 3G iPad. Would appreciate any comment. Dusty

    An Attack Cape Cruiser

Hey old friend, You are missed out on this coast (now up to 70 degrees here). Hook up one of your two fancy tow vehicles to one of your two super cats and put Oak Harbor in your GPS destination. And bring Sally!!!! I say again, BRING SALLY, Dusty

The Little Land Loop - THATAWAY gets a new home

Hello old shipmate! Cool trip, dear friend, no tits-up stuff. Am I supposed to send money for your spare TC or will you just bring her up? Les said it very well -- got a slip for her already, and after running my 24 TC for a long time out of the same slip, guarantee you can't find a better...

    07/20 - 07/22 - La Conner, WA

La Conner for sure. I'll miiss Joe and Ruth, but I can make La Conner from the house in 30 minutes by C-Dory or an hour by rowboat. I'll be there, Tom. Dusty

    My Dad makes front page

Great picture. Some of us old ones stick around and enjoy life. WWII seens a while back to me, and not much I miss except my buddies. No need for "Thanks for your service" because the service is its own reward. The ones who deserve the thanks are the ones who didin't make it. Best wishes and...

    1981 C-dory Angler hull # 8, Hunkey Dory

I'm sure you are right! Don't know much about construction -- I just thought they all had plywood in them... mea culpa. Duster

    1981 C-dory Angler hull # 8, Hunkey Dory

I think all 22 C-Dory's have plywood bottoms. The old pre-'85 boats have 5/8 inch 5 ply athwartships -- later ones have plywood with balsa core. Bob Austin knows the construction better than I do -- but if you get a C-Dory it's gonna have plywood AFIK. I've had 3 classic 22's over the years and...

Has Anyone Seen the Arima SR Explorer 21?

With a lot of experience in both -- I've owned several of each brand, and I have fish over 1,000 hours with my partner in his 21 Arima, I'll try to be as objective as possible. They are both great boats -- I much prefer the Arima for fishing, and it handles our PNW chop better than the CD. My...

    Cruising across Europe

Bill, I don't have a "Fiero" on my list. Do you have the full name of your 1710 ancestor? Cuz Dusty

    Cruising across Europe

Bill, Y'all have a great trip!!! My ancestors too came from the area in 1710 -- when you get up this way we can have a great old chatfest. I've done a ton of research in that area while doing my genealogy. Dusty

    25 Tomcat at Port Townsend

Thanks guys! Good to be back. And Tom, I'm ready for the big flat rascals -- guess I better talk to BC and hook one of those 400# monsters. Dusty

    25 Tomcat at Port Townsend

Thanks gents! Appreciate the info. Probably look at her next week -- the listing doesn't state much about equipment other than the Garmin (heat, etc.), but she looks a bit over priced to me. Certainly is a good looking rig though, and worth a trip to PT. Dusty -- so good to post here again...

    Veteran's Day

Charley, Thanks old buddy -- I needed that, but it's amazing what 50 years and 50 pounds (mostly around the waist) will do to one's present looks!! You are invited to my 91st birthday party this Feb. -- bring single malt, okay? Dusty -- and thank you for your service, Charley
