    Why WM

I figured it was something like that - but I suspected it was WalMart.

The Cruising Adventures of Wild Blue and crew...

IF you'd fore-go the wet suit in water that deep you'd be ~ a foot taller ! Try wading into cold water (sans wetsuit) and see if you don't get taller....

    Why WM

Can someone tell me WHY Washington uses WM on the boat registration instead of the more logical (did I say THAT?) WA ?

    C-Dory Sightings

Son was sitting at a riverside establishment on the San Bernard River south of Houston and reported seeing a 25' gray trimmed C-Dory pass by. ???

Jeez,a wetsuit at this time of year - good thing the C of C police didn't see you ! Especially after all of the recent Spring Break exposure down there.

    Lost door key-No problem!

I think a hammer would be the quickest. I think the best ( defined as most effective of the type an "average individual WOULD USE ) defense that I've heard of is wasp spray. About a 10-20' range, legal everywhere - and from what I've read it will stop about as well as a taser. We'll have it...

So, Who Got an iPad Yesterday?

Yep, I'll have one, or maybe 2 (one each). But I don't do rev. 1.0 of any computer. I will have the Navionics App, it just makes sense. I wonder only about how "robust" it will be physically - for use on the boat. I got the iPhone instead of the Droid, (which I wanted, but all of the kids live...

    Load Testing

Thanks Dr. Bob. I would probably be ~220# soaking wet in my street clothes, and saw the 150# rating. I knew that you had tested, just didn't know the parameters used. I think it would help, but I doubt if SHE could get me on deck with it - but close maybe. Once tested a life boat installation...

    Load Testing

Has anyone actually load tested their Garhauer davit installation - with a realistic weight for lifting a person with wet clothes from the water and into the cockpit ? Just wondering, I've tested a few "safety" items in the past with some pretty spectacular failures, and when you need it isn't...

Attaching metal racks to roof rails

I put a Thule roof rack on Fan-C-Dory. Just clamps to the rail, using the rubber lined gutter clamps. You know - cars & trucks used to have these things along the roof to keep water from running in your door when opened, the rack was made to attach to those -called "gutters". :) Mine is...

AND a good time was had by all. Thanks for taking us along Jim. I was wondering what the fireworks were about last night - hadn't heard them before up north here.

CMC PT-130 Power Tilt & Trim

Not the tilt, but I had their jacking plate on my Whaler. It was a nice piece of fabrication.

    Optima blue top

No, you shouldn't de-sulfate the Optima batteries if you adhere to their charging perimeters. Max voltage they should see is 15.6 - de-sulfating boosts the charge voltages to 17+ volts. Don't know about other AGMs. My Optima are 3+ years old.

    Optima blue top

Yep, in my application, I deep cycle them - Optima, calls them deep cycle in some places, in others they call them dual purpose. You can get more amps from Interstate, and some others - I personally don't feel they are worth the premium price. I see no reason you couldn't cut the big terminals...

    Optima blue top

I have 2 grp31 Optima in my RV as house batteries. It came that way, I would have put in a common AGM. A couple of Optima advantages - I believe they are more robust than others, and I can charge them how ever fast I want, as long as I manage the temperature. I sometime begin a charge at 100A +...

    130 Honda on a CD25 - adequate?

Depends on how fast you want to run - and are the kids gonna hold you accountable if it won't pull a tube ? I have a 150 on Fan-C-Dory, MORE than I need for the speed we travel. Butttt, if I ever NEED the extra power it's there. I think, I can get a tube to plane now (if the Permatrim gets the...

    Cell Phone Question

    1. Ya, I can afford it but just because I want to die broke - it doesn't mean tomorrow ! 2. They seem to always find me, no matter what bar I'm in. 3. Good luck on that one ! 4. But then how could I play solitaire sitting on the head ? 5. I have a Chevy truck, but it won't fit the aft deck on...

    Cell Phone Question

What do you folks living along the border do to keep Rogers in Canada from snatching your cell phone signal ? Seems like everytime I get within 50 miles of Canada my phone goes into international roaming.

    Extended Run Generator System

Here is a link to the Yahoo group. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Honda_EU2000_Generators/?yguid=90126819 The fuel tanks work well, if as Joe says, they are well sealed between the fuel and the generator. Don't forget to open the tank vent, and check the oil when the tank is MT.
