    Cable Run

Oh, I will follow an established run, I just wasn't sure if CD sealed their penetration in the aft cabin wall, or not (nor exactly sure of where it might be). I would guess that it would be above the level of the cockpit floor to prevent water intrusion ? I guess I need to run the digital camera...

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

Well, it's on, these old hands will take a while to become useful again. I took ~2.5" off of the fwd end of the PT (Permatrim), cut the "slot wider, and removed about 1/8" off of the top of the trim tab to allow the PT to fit between it and the cavitation plate - all by hand. Looks OK, but now...

    Cable Run

Can anyone suggest a good cable run from the fuel tank/motor well area - to the helm on a 25 ? I'm wanting to install a fuel flow on Fan-C-Dory. Thanks.

Thanks TyBoo. Will discuss with Andy tomorrow.

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

I hope we can make the larger plate work, I think, in the case of Fan-C-Dory "Size Matters". The hole in the plate is smaller that the sector on the trim tab so the trim tab can't be removed and re-installed after the PT is installed. Also the trim tab (on my motor) is less than 1/16" clear of...

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

Thanks Jay, what size is your Permatrim (if it's available to measure) ? The one I have "looks" larger - it is 16.5x22.75". Thanks all for the info. Got a note from Andy Jr last night - I sent him some pictures, so we'll have this sorted Monday.

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

Thanks for the reply. The Permatrim you have must be different than mine. The instructs for mine say mount it below the cav. plate. It has a hole that looks like it is made to fit above the trim fin (between it and the cav plate) but to get it there I have to loosen the trim tab to let it down...

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

This past summer I felt that the Fan-C-Dory struggled a little to much to get over the hump and up on plane, and even then wanted (I felt) to ride bow high. I have Lenco TT's on it, but think that they would be better if they were shaped like the Bennett, and/or the next size larger.

    25' C-Dory Cruiser--Permatrim

OK, I'll re-open this thread. I received my Permatrim today. I have a Honda 150 on Fan-C-Dory. All of the installation pictures I see on the net show the thing mounted above the cav. plate. The pattern on the model I rec'd mount under the cav.... Has anyone here done it on a 150/135 Honda ?

    How big a battery

I just changed mine over, I now have 2 GRP 27 deep cycles for the cabin, and a GRP 27 as a starting battery. Last summer we had no problem with a single 27, but SHE get tired of me harping "1 light for 1 person, 2 lights for 2 people - TURN IT OFF if you don't need it!" Add a little info to...

    Garmin Update

DD You are correct about the BUGs ! I used to take the Malaria tabs like birth control tabs cause I never knew from day to day where I'd be tomorrow. Course then the birth control changed to the Little blue tab and it is down hill from there !! Instead of putting a camper back on...

    vee berth material

Correct there Dr. Bob. Memory foam will bottom out - unless it is ridiculously thick. I had some mattresses made for an RV, used 3" of memory foam and 3" of a med. density foam on the bottom. Nice bed, but need a hard hat in the v-berth.

    Garmin Update

Thanks Dave, Looks like most of the update is pretty meaningless for me. I've seen some screen shots over on the HT forum that indicate a much better rendition of data from the depth sounder also.

    Garmin Update

For some of us that use a Garmin system - Garmin has released a software update. I've got the update but haven't tried it yet to see what has changed.

    Nav Lights

Sounds like the diode on the switch is gone - a replacable item, but I'd just replace the switch and all.

    Flush Bag

Can someone point me to a source for the "Flush Bags" I see in some of the photo albums ? No - not that kind of flush - the ones for motors. Thanks !

    GPS Antenna Location

Fan-C-Dory has a Garmin 4210 installed, with the antenna mounted on the roof. I have a Garmin 498 That I am going to mount over toward the passenger side. Yesterday I was putt-zing around with the 498 - checking to make sure it still worked p inside of my metal building. It worked just fine...
