    Westport for Albacore and Coho

What Roger said & its faster to chill the fish in a slurry consisting of sea water and ice. What we do is: 1. brain spike or hit it with a club 2. rip out 1 side of the gill 3. place fish in a bucket to bleed, 5-10 mins 4. gut & gill then into the slurry

A little more power would have been nice.

Welcome to my world, Jay. This is exactly how it is when we run for albacore. Fuel consumption is the same too. I was told to change out the OEM prop with a smaller pitch and add permatrim, but I dont know if those would really help. I havent read of anyone loading heavily like I do to...

short trips in the Sacramento Delta area

lloyds - if youre referring to Marina Park off Marina Bvld, Yes its still there. Beautiful city park with launch ramp but too far south from Walnut Creek. Adding to Chris' comment about wash downs. The machines take quaters and there are no change machines.

short trips in the Sacramento Delta area

Hi Patti & Barry, You didnt mention if you would launch early morning or mid morning, but from the marinas you listed, it would take a few hrs to get to Sausalito/SF. Don & Brenda are correct about the winds, but with this yr's strange summer pattern, its difficult to tell what will happen in...

    Need advice: C-dory 22 Angler

missed this thread somehow, but here's my take: most boats would make a good "first" ocean boat. Depends if you can live with the limitations of the boat. a. CD will be slower than your bayliner b. if you run like your bayliner, you will pound because of the flat bottom BW 220 is a wet ride...

    2009 22' angler

Hi - This is exactly why I enjoy this site. 99% of the threads would get hijacked and go on a tangent. I'm sure the comments on quality was not mean to be in malice, but rather the c-brats' way of looking out after the own or "potential" own. The fact that there is no warranty warrants the...

    2009 22' angler

Wow! That was quick! She appears to have: Digital antenna - great reception and range (credit Dr. Bob). Cooler rack - nice.... For the life of me, I can't figure out what that green stuff is in the cockpit. Faux carpet? Try and find any info when the owner did the motor break in period...

    22' angler or cruiser?

Hi Nick - Seems like deja vu..... I had the same questions and same requirements. But then I also added 2 more: 1. What species will I target (so it would dictate the type of fishing)? 2. How comfortable will the crew be? Being in Citrus Heights, I assume most of your time will be spent on...

    Fishing in The Rain

Hi Tug, We've fished in the rain (winter season) a number of times last year and we enjoyed it for several reasons: 1. No one else was out except for some bass boats and they looked miserable....to think I did that before. 2. soaked bait or trolled and head into the cabin to make coffee or...

Californians get an ocean salmon season this year.....

"Salmon fishermen can dust off their poles, sponge off their boats and get ready to hook some chinook for the first time in three years. There will be at least limited ocean salmon fishing this year, according to almost all of the options laid out Thursday by the Pacific Fishery Management...
