    Boterhoming

We just use a small plastic tub that fits in the sink to catch any gray water. Another place to consider are Casino parking lots. Even ones that have a real RV park may let you spend the night free in a lightly used area of their parking lot. We have stopped several times at 7 Feathers...

    Raymarine Autopilot

Hi Bruce, I have a similar unit but 2004 St9001. I have the same problem with the linear transducer. There is an after market transducer that is less money. Don't remember the name right now. My fluxgate is in the same place as yours but I keep my pans and other metal things out of that area. I...

    even greater loop

I attended a slide show by a guy who sailed around the world in a 12 ft aluminium boat he built himself. It does take a special person for those kind of trips. After the slide show I asked him if he took any music or books on the long crossings. He told me he did not and just basically looked...

The Cruising Adventures of Wild Blue and crew...

Welcome to the club Jim. I have had three tires come apart with a lot less miles driven. One tire took my fender completely off the trailer and over a guard rail never to be seen again. Never had the steel belts wrap around the axle. Sounds like the you received good service - it is nice...

Surviving late fall, winter and early spring

Hi George, I don't recall seeing any posts about insulating your whole boat. What did you use for that? Steve

    Table Leg-dinning table- for 2001 22 foot

Hi ken, I replaced mine with a stainless grab bar/towel bar for a bathroom I found at a garage sale still in the package. Has been a few years so don't remember the name but you might look at Home Depot. It is a strait bar (1in diameter) that has a stainless square bracket with round hole to...

    Auto piolot

New auto pilot question. I have a 2005 C80 Raymarine system with the ST6001 auto pilot that has the gyro. This system uses a large Linear Rudder Position Transducer (basically a large pot) that is attached to the steering cylinder. On my last trip I started getting errors of lost rudder...

    Great boat recipe?

I like oats and occasionally sardines but I have never heard of mixing them. Do you make the oats with hot water before adding the sardines? I might have to try this. Good thing it is not too expensive, because if I don't like it I don't think the cat will eat it.

The Cruising Adventures of Wild Blue and crew...

Hi Jim, The last time we rode the Hippie bus the driver had to stop and put two quarts of oil in the motor before we could get to the pub - wonder if they have fixed that leak yet (well it has only been 5 years). I know there has got to be a good reply to your shid-head post. I just could...

The Cruising Adventures of Wild Blue and crew...

Blind bay is a great place to anchor. We were in there a couple of times on our 2009 trip - brings back a memory: After anchoring one afternoon and starting dinner a sailboat came in and anchored about 50 to 60 yards away. While eating dinner we were treated to a show of them taking a bucket...

    Delta Trip from Berkeley

Hi Don, Just head out of the marina and take a right, under the Richmond bridge and follow the channel across San Pablo bay to the Carquinez (I80) bridge. You are probably familiar with the bay conditions but you do want to be aware of the conditions for San Pablo bay. Ideal is light...

    A Wake(up) Story

Hi Harvey, I had a similar experience in the SF Bay. Glass calm, did not see the wave or hole until almost on top of it. Mine was only about 2 ft deep and not breaking on following wave, no second set. I also had no idea who or how it was made. Flat calm is when you least expect these things...

    09/22 Lake Powell 2012

I forgot to mention that there is a phone number where you can buy a Utah license. They will let you fish before you receive a license if you have the number they give you to show you have paid for it. The rangers told us about it and that is what we did. Steve

    09/22 Lake Powell 2012

I was at lake Powell in May and stopped in at Styx and bought a license. I asked if the license was good for all of the lake and was told it was. First day fishing we were stopped by UT rangers. I thought I was good to go but they told us we only had a AZ license. I know, I should have done...
