So a review/advertisement is going to point out all of the advantages and pluses. What would you say are the major disadvantages or deal killers of an etec compared to a four stroke?

I wonder if it depends on boat size. I see quite a few yachts on boattest.com with inboards and plastic bowels and drains. Maybe different for diesels? Just curious. My stern drive has the full metal with no drain but would be nice to have visual and ability to drain rather than just change...
Maybe someone could refresh my memory. Probably nothing to do with outboards but aren't there certain installs where the racor (filter with drain) are not permitted?

Les,
That certainly is a big announcement and a very good one as well. Only been on a Nordic once but I could really feel the quality just walking about the boat, should be a great fit for you and the Marinaut. Congrats.

Been wondering the same. Nothing new on Facebook. If I understood correctly, it was Les's father having health problems a while back. Hope all is well.

Looks great, a couple of questions. How does it fasten around the arch? Not that it ever rains where you live, but any supports to keep the rain from pooling?
Thanks,
Jake
Matt,
Love to see pictures of the interior, they all kind of look the same on the outside. And that Explorer looks pretty neat, never seen one those, probably rather pricey.
Thanks for posting,
Jake
I don't live in CA nor am I a fisherman but I know my son in law is working on a long term project for the state to restore salmon to the San Joaquin River. Quite a difficult but exciting project.

Reminds me of HGTV show last Sunday in Florida keys where they had docks with no fingers, just some lines running from the pilings to the dock to separate slips. And all the boats were docked bow in. I don't know, guess they were good at jumping from the bow to the dock and back. ...
Great info. Yes, I'm set for now, just like to be prepared in case the better half has a weak moment and agrees we need a new or second boat. In that case I would want it equiped with a more comprehensive system.
Have had the same happen on my deep V stern drive with the difference being you also get a severe tilt into the turn. Since mostly all you read about is getting the bow down, it's good to hear about those situations when you need to get the bow up some on a C-Dory.
Thanks guys. And yes I agree, Dr. Bob is a real asset to this site. Have learned much from him although some topics are definitely above my head. I mentioned Raymarine and Garmin only because they are the two I seem to see the most on this site and I had a feeling Garmin was easier to use...
