    Scan Guage

Autozon sells them, but don't usually have it in stock. I have one in my Saturn Vue becuase I missed having the economy monitoring features that my old Buick had. Works well. One note- if you have Onstar, they will not be able to upload vehicle data while the Scan Gauge is plugged in, and your...

Best Outboard Brand for Owner Maintenance?

My first question is always "Who's your local dealer?" Because the "best" outboard in the world will be the "worst" if you don't have good local support. We handle four lines of engines- and people ask me which is "best"- I always ask what horsepower, because each line has it's strength and...

Life expectancy of a 135 honda

If you read the owners manual, valve adjustment on many 4 strokes is recomended every year or 200 hours. On engines where valves get out of adjustment, or with a lot of idling, a valve job could be needed. Others may go forever without the need for one, so 1500 does not seem excessive to me. As...

    fuel capacity

Tuel tanks in the boat are exposed, and therefor require no bilge blower or other ventilation. The tank in the cabin would require sealing the compartment and ventilating it. The tank is not designed for fuel, so I would not put fuel into it. The risk of injury or death, while relatively small...

    Suzuki engine query

There is no idle adjustment on a Fuel Injected engine without hooing up to the computer. Do not adjust anything under the hood unless you know exactly what you are doing. We had a local shop "adjust" the idle speed on a Suzuki 140- they actually screwed up the air mix and the component had to...

    Stainless Motorwell protective bar

The factory bar was probably made by Railmakers NW in Everett. They should still have the pattern, in case the factory doesn't have or is slow to respond.

    2006 Angler for $27,500??

It would be worth contacting the seller. It does seem to be a really good value, but that model may not be a great seller in Florida waters. It looks like the description has ben cut and pasted from some other source, and the motors and trailers aren't mentioned- in fact nothing in the...

Comments on mounting a 9.8 Tohatsu on a 22ft Crusier

Bt installation seems to be to use the mini jacker plate here: http://www.thmarine.com/products/Outboa ... ni-Jacker- It raised to motor up a couple of inches and pushes it back far enough to clear the trim tab when in the down position.

    c-dory value

We just sold a 2005 Suzuki 115 4 stroke for $4500. So the engine is worth abot that, plus some for the rigging. Then figure kicker, trailer, and stuff. I don't have a good handle on what the older C-Dory's are worth. In the end, I would have the boat surveyed. This will give you a report on...

    Garmin plotters/sounders

As I recall (and it's been awhile) the 140 unit has 200 watts output, so going to the black box and its 500 watt output will be a large increase in performance in just output power. Coupled with the more advanced sounder software, I think you'll see a an improvement over what you have.

Advice on Copper Based Bottom on Lakes on West Coast

Step away from the gun- I didn't buy a C-Dory. My taste in boats is a bit bigger- I bought a 1981 Wellcraft 260 Sedan. So now I have two project boats. Plus a house I bought last year that needs some yard work. But hey, what's one more project, right?

Advice on Copper Based Bottom on Lakes on West Coast

I just bought a boat that came out of Lake Mead and Nevad Fish and Wildlife informed Washington that it was coming and Washington Fish and Wildlifecontacted the hauler and inspected it when it entered the state.

Advice on Copper Based Bottom on Lakes on West Coast

No problems- as noted, the ban starts a number of years from now. Most of the yards in Wasington have moved away from using copper paint when doing bottom paint jobs at this point, so you'll see copper paints pahsed out before the ban. Interestingly enough- the law doesn't prohibit someone...

    EZ-Loader Bunk Trailer

Ion't understand why EZ Loader only uses tw bunks on their trailers in the weight range, but they do. Move the winch stand back past the point where the side frams join the tongue. that will move the boat back so that the bunks doen't hang past the hull. You don't need any rollers on the keel...

    C Dory out of Business

Which factory did you visit? The old Sea Sport facility, or the enwere Triton plant with the 16 C-Dory on teh roof of the building? There has been word of some changes going on at the plant, but last I heard it was still open and building boats. Not a lot of boats, as the economy is still slow.
