    Costco boat?

BTW- The Lehr product looks to be Yamaha- the current 2.5 and the last gen 4/6. Specs are the same and the handles are identicle on the motors.

    It's finally happening

I'd love to help, but, well, I gotta still work. I'd love to retire, but I would end up living in a discarded outboard box. Although the boxes for the Evinrude 250s are quite roomey, and reinforced...

    250-HR Yamaha 70 report

Based on your loading, and based on the comment "It's only in strong tidal flows and bar crossings where she struggles a bit" I would suggest something bigger than a four stroke 70. The Yamaha 70 is a great motor and I was really impressed with it on Greg and Cynthia's new Lund. But if you feel...

    Costco boat?

HColeman website: http://www.colemanpowered.com/parts-a-a ... otors.html The 5 horse does not look like a Tohatsu, as the Tohatsu (Nissan / Mercury / Evinrude) has thru prop exhaust. Plus the Lanyard switch is in a different place. I wonder if these are a Chinese knock off?

    Water problem

The 22 Sport Cruiser is the Cruiser cabin length without a bulkhead. Inseat of a galley and dinette is had the forward facing seats line an angler, with long bench seats aft of them. For the record, the 22 Angler's bulkhead is an option. The standard boat is built with the same arrangement as...

Hey Primative! Thanks for the hose!

My new to me project boat needs some work- do they need to stay overnight? This could becaome a cottage industry as we all loan them our boats for their guests. The new hose would just be a bonus at that point....

Tomcat 225 on Craigslist - new or used?

Funny, Roger. The first time I saw that bow on show I immediately thought "Bird of Prey". I guess me geek is showing....

    Firefox / IE question

Our newest computer here at the office is running both IE and Firefox, because some of the sites used by the companies we deal with won't work with IE9 so we have to use Firefox for access. Both are living peacefully together.

How bout trim tab holes in the Hull ?

Dending on the year, C-Dory used some different core materials in the transom. The latest models use a synthetic material that won't rot. Earlier models used marine plywood, which can rot. With proper installation, hull penetration is not an issue. Trim tabs can help the boat perform better...

    Oregon Invasive Species permit

I just bought a boat out of Lake Mead. Lake Mead is having a problem with an invasive species, and we had to fill out a form for Nevada telling them when the boat was last in the water, and where it was going. Nevada then notified Washington state, who contacted the shipper to make inspection...

    Cam Guard

Automotive oils have had the zinc removed from them, and Marine oils I am told have not. For longest life we strongly recomend marine grade oils offered by the marine engine manufacturers. Stick with the oil offered by your engine manufacturer and you can't go wrong.

    Are you ready for E15?

There will be warning labels on pumps dispensing E15 that it is prohibited to use E15 in vehilce older than 2001 and any off road applications- boats, chainsaws, etc. All I can say is that as bad as E10 is in boats, E15 would be catastophic. You have been warned.

Leaky Cockpit Hatches in C-Dory 25' Cruiser

Wel, at least you can donate the boat to science when you're gone. Or maybe contact a local university to see if they want to conduct experiments on mold in the bilge....

    C-Dory Venture 29

I can see how it was a departure for C-Dory, and moved away from the "core" of what a lot of C-Dory owners find appealing about their boat. Yet I think it still retained a lot of the C-Dory elements- economical to operate, slower cruising speeds when desired but with a bit of punch when needed...

Leaky Cockpit Hatches in C-Dory 25' Cruiser

I've often wondered if some additional ventilation for the bilge would help with the moisture problems, and help prevent mold.

    C-Dory Venture 29

Let's see if this works: Looking at the images, I think the roofline should have been a curved line like the Cape Cruiser / Venture 23 / 26, as the stepped look, while a feature on the rest of the C-Dory lines, looks too exagerated in the 29. On edit- well heck. I have yet to have...

    C-Dory Venture 29

I think actual producton numbers were closer to 10 or a dozen of this model. Not a great seller, it was introduced as the market was beginning to cool off, and it did not have good marketing behind it. It also has not been accepted by most of the members of the C-Brats site. When judged...

    Deck core moisture and rot

I beleive the 23 Venture used the same hatch cover, and the Imtra hatch should fit. I'm not sure if you'll find balsa in the core of the 23 Venture, as they went to a foam core material for the hull, but balsa may still have been in the deck.
