To answer David's question, yes you must register with NOAA as with most goverment agencies they don't talk to each other. You can register on line and make any changes on line. I received the IPRO for Christmas with the waterproof case. It transmits on both the 406 and the 121. The battery was...

Wow Greg This came as a big surprise to us all, especially with all the work you have put into your boat, sorry to hear this, but life moves on and someone is going to get a great boat, might even be me.

    Choosing the right windlass

Thanks guys, that is what I am looking for, think I will go with the V700, 50' of chain and 250 nylon. Wow 300' of 8 plait rope, that should really fill up the space, definately let me know how that goes. I was looking at 1/2" 3 ply.

    Swim Platform

Les at EQ did several swim platforms for people with twins. Look at Sea Shift album that DaveS has and he has good pics of the modified one that Les did

    Choosing the right windlass

Thanks Casey I was looking at about 50' of chain and about 250 of nylon rode, my main question is how one chooses the windlass, is there any secret as to one type vs another.

    Choosing the right windlass

Due to pending shoulder surgery that will prevent me from manual pulling the anchor, I am looking at a windlass, so many options. Considering the Lemar Pro Fish for it's free fall function, as I mostly boat solo and dropping the anchor fast seems like a good option. The other 2 would be the...

    Angola Canvas--Great service and product

I ordered mine 2 years ago from them, 830 including shipping and 2 engine covers, it showed up on my door within 5 days, the fit and finish are great, I have had many comments from boaters on how nice the fit is. Obviously they are holding their price since I know the cost of Sunbrella has...

    Christmas gifts for 2011

You are correct theft would be an issue, maybe I could make a quick disconnect setup to remove it while not out cruising. He knew I was looking forward to An Alaskian trip in a few years, just a bit of an overkill. But he is an engineer.

    Christmas gifts for 2011

Tom My only concern with mounting next to the door is what I thought of also, when it releases it goes to the surface and sends the signal, if the canvas is up it would then not be able to do this, so I was then thinking of at the back of the high top so it would be above the canvas. The other...

    Christmas gifts for 2011

This year we are flying out to Houston for Christmas and my brother in law decided to send out gifts to us eary so we would not to haul them back. This was a good plan considering the gift he gave me. The TSA would have a field day with this. A bit big for a 22, have no idea where to mount...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

That was me, I looked over and missed the ramp I wanted so just took the next ramp. I had only a couple hours sleep from the 14 hour drive up, then hooked up the boat, all the cover straps were frozen so it was a challenge just to get the boat hooked up. Greg re-did the wiring which was hot...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I made a quick trip to Camano Island from our Sacramento house, ran the boat up to Triton for a re-wire of the trailer lights. They had just rolled a new 23 Venture out. Very nice looking. I brought the boat back to Sacramento to prepare for numerous winter projects. Windlass, camper back etc.

    Volvo Penta Inboard/Outboard

Good to hear from jeff to clear that up. Guess I let the cat out of the bag a bit early, the decision only happened a few days ago.

    Volvo Penta Inboard/Outboard

Volvo but on the diesel side, I was looking at the build sheet on a Cutwater I was looking at buying and noticed Volvo D3 was spec'd, I asked the dealer about this and Ranger Tugs and Cutwater are changing the whole fleet to Volvo. I know a few years ago the customer service was terrible and...

    Nor'westing magazine bites the dust

Our reading options for boating keep getting smaller and smaller, guess I will just have to boat more instead. I still subscribe to Pacific Yachting due to all the articles and adventures in the Gulf islands, and the PNW in general.

    I will buy your CD22

Miles, the only thing I was talking about price, and I am sure you know that so many people expect to pay NADA prices and get very angry when they are told that is well under the price at which they will sell. I would not expect anyone to discuss prices per say.

    I will buy your CD22

Am not sure about that, seems to me quite a few have come onto the market in the past month or so. What years are you looking for, and of course the big thing is people expect to get them very cheap, and that is not likely going to happen.

    Master Marine Selling Ranger Tugs?

Ok, I admit it, I spent a couple of hours test driving a 2009 Ranger Tug 25, needless to say we fell in love, however the wife saw a red 27 and even though we did not drive that one, it had us drooling. Ummm could be a tug in the driveway soon.

    Need advice - insurance settlement

Glad to hear you are ok. Many years ago I had a vehicle totaled, same as you wanted to give a price much lower than I wanted. At the time no computers, so used newspaper clippings as to what they were actually selling at. They matched the average price and because I had custom wheels came up a...
