Puget Sound area recommendations for canvas work

Roger, When I purchased my boat in 2006 from EQ, Les used a canvas guy on Whidby Island for the camperback. They did a great job and it was cheaper than the people the factory were using at the time. Don't know if the're still in business but you could call Les or Kathy.

Looking for a good cookbook for fish.

I consider myself a seafood connoisseur and love to cook almost as much as I do eat the stuff. I have two favorite cookbooks that were published by Seattle restaurants. The first (McCormick and Schmicks) I liked so much that a bought a second copy when it was updated. The second, Rays...

    Say a prayer

Bob, Just catching up on recent postings and ran into this thread. I'm sorry to hear of your situation and will keep you in my thoughs and prayers. You obviously mean much to a lot of people. Although I've never met you in person, I feel you are a friend just from your voice on this forum...

    Bow mounted search light

Rich, I mounted a bow Golight spotlight recently on my CD-25. It was pretty easy to drill into the rail and run the cable inside, however I did have some trouble making the hole where the rail attaches to the boat. The end of the rail is not hollow, but instead has a flat plate welded to the...

    Halibut

Mark, This upcoming month for halibut is my favorite fishing time of the year. It's taken me a couple of years of experimenting (and seminars) but I finally feel I'm doing enough right to have a decent chance to catch a fish. Some important points: - you have to be on bottom to catch these...

    Stern rail CD-25

I have the same one as Soulmate. It was designed by Les at EQ and manufactured by Railmakers in Everett.

    SHRIMPING 2009

We got our limit of 400 (three adults and two kids) but it took us about 5 hours. We had to work for them as well as I do it the old fashioned way- no pot puller. We were amongst the crowds south of Mukilteo. Friday was even better as we got 50 and 25lb halibut around Dallas Bank (in the...

    WE'VE JOINED THE CLUB!

Great news Mark! I know you've been looking for quite a while and now it looks like that waiting has paid off. A great boat for a great price. You can't ask for much more than that.

    Powering a 25'...

Mark, I've got a 135 on mine and am pleased with the performance. There are certainly a few time where I would like to go faster but on the whole, it works for me. Shoot me a pm if you want to go out for a spin. Still at D dock at Edmonds.

    Intermittent Wiper Solution?

Thanks for the replies guys. The West Marine solution is nice but the $200 is a little steeper than what I would like to pay. The foot-activated switch is a good idea as well but I still would like something more automated. I found a straight forward intermittent-wiper circuit diagram online...

    Intermittent Wiper Solution?

Has anyone come up with a good intermittent wiper solution? Other than the obvious finger of course. Thanks,

    C-Dory Sightings

DaveS, We only got two keepers. Unfortunately we picked the southeast side of Hat Island which seemed to be picked over pretty good. The fishing was better- we picked up a 12 lb king. Regards,

    C-Dory Sightings

Dave, I guess I was one of those unrecognized C-Dorys at Edmonds. My wife and I were going out crabbing and saw you turning into the guest docks at the marina. A beautiful day to be on the water. In fact a beautiful day to be on the water twice. I was out with a friend fishing in Elliot Bay...

    Halibut

My annual halibut trip to La Push got canceled due the bad ocean conditions yesterday so I ran the boat from Edmonds up into the Strait (around Eastern bank). The fishing was suprisingly good! We had five people on two boats and everyone brought home a halibut. Three were small in the 15-20...

    anyone with a fishing report?

I ran the boat up into the Strait last Saturday, but no fish (normal for me). My buddies boat had one halibut around 25#. The Thursday Times quoted someone stating the the low tides last weekend hurt the fishing. Does anyone know why?

    Electrical Problems Redux

I agree that paralleling the two batteries when the engine is 'off' is not a good idea and the batteries will fight each other to try to achieve balanced voltage. However when the engine is charging and the charge voltage (14.5V in this case), is well above the voltage of either battery, both...

    Electrical Problems Redux

Pat, I went through a similar problem when my boat was new. I couldn't keep the house battery charged and my voltage would slowly drift downward (per the voltmeter at the helm). Periodically I would recharge the house through the shore cable periodically to keep going. Finally the lightbulb...

    Pocket Cruiser Magazine Article

Sarge, I looks like you made a good, well thought through decision. Congrats. What's your space in dry storage? I want to take a peek. Plus I'll look out for you on B dock. Still working on the docking thing. Still have a ways to go before I'm confortable single-handing. My best results...
