    Bilge pump for 16' Cruiser

At the end of the color just forward of the transom on the port side, you can see the factory installed bilge outlet on my 2006 Angler. I replaced the factory 1100GPH pump with a 1600GPH Johnson pump. You want to get the water out as quickley as need be, into the splash-well ,not a good idea.

    Bunk Trailer Hint

Agree with Marc and Bob, Liquid Rollers works great. There is a warning on the label to keep the boat secured till at the water. This is no joke! Your boat WILL slide right off as if on real rollers with this stuff. It does minimize wear on the bottom when launching and recovering and you get...

    A cautionary tale

Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. There's no doubt that "Get There Itis" causes more than a fare share of plane, boat and car accidents year after year.

    Hewescraft Searunner - Opinions please.

Never much cared for the open bow on the 22 sea runner. We have a really steep chop here on Green Bay and my 17' open bow center console (read pure fishing boat!) would ocassionly slice right thru a wave and catch a good bit of water. It would bail out quickly enough, but 6" of water on the...

    Upgrading seats?

I replaced my seats this year with Tempress Low-Back Navistyle Boat Seats from Cabelas and feel they were a nice up-grade. Much firmer foam and sits more up-right. My old seats you could feel the bolts through the cushion after a couple hours. These give me all day comfort.

Transom plug leaks on 16 Angler

Well, the loop in the bilge line did not fix the issue. I finally removed the cockpit drain tube. There was some moisture present, so I'm sure this was the issue. Something I found that I didn't expect was that the area near the tube was structural foam not balsa. I ordered a new drain tube and...

If great looking wooden boats strike your fancy, check out the Tolman skiff. They have a great basic design and can be finished however you can imagine. I hope to build one myself in the future. http://www.fishyfish.com/tolmanskiff.html

3 grown men on an Angler 16

To each his own. We fish 3 guys in my boat every year. A driver, a net man and the guy on the rod. On windy days, without the 3rd guy you have to turn downwind to land fish, the guy sitting on the cooler must wear rain gear while running as any type of wind/chop will cause spay on the cockpit...

    16 Angler Wiper Blades

After nearly 3 months of searching I finally found a set of wiper blades that match the origionals on my 2006 16 Angler. I had looked all over the old topics and couldn't find anything, so decided I would post the info here for anyone who might be looking for the same. I knew the blade was an...

Transom plug leaks on 16 Angler

I got the boat out on a rare calm day and noted that the boat didn't "leak". I've been aware for a long time that any sort of chop would cause it to rain in the cockpit (just ask the guy that sits on the cooler when we fish with 3 guys). Corrosion in the tube was not the issue either. So it...

Transom plug leaks on 16 Angler

It seems like whenever I have my boat in the water for more than a couple hours I get a little water on the floor. I'm guessing it's coming thru my transom plug. I've changed it several times but still end up with a little water on the floor. Has anyone ever had issues with water going around...
