My Torqeedo was about 2007 era, in comparison to a gasoline 2 to 3 hp motor, it was very quiet. But it was not silent, but quiet enough to sneak up on wildlife better than the outboards. One problem of some of the small outboards, is they don't have a neutral..so you cannot just let the motor...

Ray Electric were not the brand which were on the Hontoon ferry for about 5 years (that I am aware of). The Ray Electric may have been before I first went to Hontoon, or more recently. My understanding was that the electric motors at Hontoon were discontinued because of...
David I believe I stil have it. I'll check later today. It is not light--I will weigh it before sending. Now I have to figure out how to pack it!
I'll be happy for someone to have a use for it. Our backs are similar to your's. We made it for that same reason and use.

The RIB's rarely travel at top speed--they will be closer to somewhere in the 20 to 30 mph in good conditions. In the waters between Mainand BC and The Queen Charlotte Islands, the chop is wicked due to fetch and shallow waters. Of course that depends on the winds in PLI. The more difficult...
Good luck on finding the Candian Coast Guard nearby. We have visited with a number of Canadian Coast Guard crew members and they are compitent and skilled, plus friendly enough to share a beer when off duty. However you may not find one of their facilities nearby. There were two cutters and...
Colby, My experience is very dated by now, but we explored several of systems on the mainland of BC going in thru passes which only had one opening for our Cal 46 and a trawler we were sailing with, each day. These fjords are extensive and fun to explore--don't expect to see any other boats up...
Anchored out--only potential issue is running the "60 watt fridge" What refrigerator is this. My general impression with C Dory refrigeration, is count on at least 2.5 amps per hour--5 amps running and running about 50% of the time. I have hundreds of hours of use to back those numbers going...
I have never been an advocate of the "Suitcase" battery/charger/inverter all in one units. Generally you can get a better unit for less money. But I do see the feature of being able to take this from the boat to the RV to the car for different intended uses. What I don't see in your diagram...
I used the 80 amp battery charger on the Victron Multiplus 12 2000/80/50 as the shore battery charger. I prefered to use a user setable DC to DC charger: Sterling: max 30 amp DC to DC charger. The newer "Saturn" from Sterling comes with 6 preset profiles and one user setable profile.

Check for occusion of the vents. Is one side better than the other? Some have a slight kink and than can be straightened. The 22's generally are not too bad for that isse, I have found the older 25's a bit particular, with only one filler, those with two and you take the cap off the second...

This forum in USA is the Master Builder's certificate. I have documented boats I have built, and always filled out one of these forums. If you were...
I have ended up adding extra switch pannels to every C dory I have owned. I am even adding 5 more to my Caracal Cat currently. If there is a way for factory to put a larger panel in--go for it. I also often put that extra panel so I can access it from bunk from the 22 and 25; would be hard...
Excellent post by John of "Cat o mine" and thanks to "YesBye" for a photo of current cleats position. I call the cleat on the foredeck the "bow cleat", the one on the side, the "amidships", although it is not really amid ships, and the furthest aft, the "stern cleat". I put the fold down...
I am a bit confused--doesn't the Tom Cat have a cleat just outside of the helm and navigator's side windows? I have used a folding down device for fenders and put an extra side cleat at the very aft of the cabin on the inside of the gunnel in the cocpit. I have put several jam cleats on the...
You need edging for the clear vinyl. If you use the clear vinyl and material such as the ShelterRite, you have a strong system, and all glued. No zippers necessary, Use Common Sense fasteners or snaps for connections, with overlap.
