Rough water fuel economy? kicker or main

Hi Wade I would never even consider running on the kicker in rough conditions unless I was facing the possiblility of running out of fuel. The boat is going to be much more responsive on the main engine. In rough windy seas you may have waves coming at you from different directions...

    Best idea under $20

Situation: I wanted to have a knife readily available. In an emergency situation I may have to cut my anchor rope in a hurry. I also had the need to have another knife and pliars available in the cockpit for bleeding fish and removing hooks. Observation: There are snaps located throughout...

    Cruising Clifton and Prairie Channels

Don & Dee There were 8 boats that took the backwater cruise. A very pleasant trip indeed. We took the back channels all the way to Tongue Point and then took the main shipping channel back to Cathlamet. We looked like a train traveling on the water as everyone was in near perfect single...

Thank you all for coming to Cathlamet 2006! I had a blast in spite of the weather. Special thanks to Chuck & Art (Wineman). Chuck led the backwater tour down to Tongue Point, he even supplied maps with historical notes of interest. I've been wanting to to this route for a couple of years now...

Jim I just got off the phone to WDFW. Sturgeon season is open for retention 7 days a week from the Wauna Powerlines to bouy 10. The Wauna Powerlines are just upriver from the harbor here in Cathlamet. 42 to 60 inches are keepers. There is a very large propane BBQ at the covered eating...

 Yes there are sturgeon holes here in this area. Probably better than what you have upriver. :wink Yes there is potluck Saturday evening. Whenever someone hollers that they're hungry, it's time to eat. Usually it's about 5:00 p.m. ChuckPacific is leading the backwater...

I just ordered a Cape Cruiser

Competition is good and there is no doubt that Cape Cruiser is direct competition to C-dory. It's the old Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge thing. Any reasonable person would expect some sparks to fly if some Ford boys started posting on the Chevy or Dodge websites, and vice versa. It would get nasty...

LOL!! That's a classic. The reservations are already made with the harbormaster just like last year. She's expecting about 20 boats. We might be rafting boats. If the fishing season closes early I expect the harbor to thin out.
