    04/15 - 04/16 - Cathlamet, WA

That would be Saturday and Sunday, April 15 - 16. I recommend getting there Friday if possible, the boat ramp will be rather busy on weekend mornings. This is the peak of springer season. :thup

 Hey, I see that ChuckPacific has signed up to come to the Cathlamet gig. I'm sitting here salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs. Could it be possible that Stone Wolf Vineyards will be represented here again this year?

Hi Ray, I sure hope you can make it this year. I think there are at least a dozen churches in Cathlamet if you and your wife are interested. On Easter morning we're going on an Easter Springer hunt instead of eggs. If the hippity-hoppity thing is is real important, I suppose we could drop...

    Single-Handing

I launch by myself about 90% of the time, this method is a piece of cake. 1. In the parking lot, put in the boat plug, put out your bumpers, raise the vhf antenna, remove tie straps from rear of boat, release the lock on the motor, coil up 25 ft. bow rope on the bow, make sure stern rope is...

Roger I like your logic. I think we have a winner with the weekend of the 15th. I'll see Jackie (Harbormaster) and get back on this. Any other comments, suggestions or ideas?

Make Money fisning on the Columbia

The first time I fished for pikeminnows was with my son and grandson last year. We caught 9 keepers in a few hours fishing in 20-25 ft. of water. The next trip we only caught 1 at the same spot. I live on the Elochoman River and during the summer I can see nice sized fish swimming in the...

Hi guys! I'll go down and talk to the harbormaster soon and inquire about Cathlamet 2006. Be advised that 2 years ago if memory serves me, (It hasn't been serving so well lately) that the quota was met and the season was shut down on April 15th. Do we want to chance having the gathering as...

    C-Brat Frapper Map

Okay, I give.... what the heck is a "shoutout"? and why do I have to give a shoutout to register there? I don't understand "nerdspeak", so explanations need to be made in simple english. I think I caught a "frapper" once while out bottomfishing.

    Big water high wind.

Some points to consider: 1. When cresting a wave, a V-hull will dive deeper into the next wave, thus allowing the water to come up higher on the windshield and sides. The impact in the trough will be softer, because you dive deeper. 2. A flat bottom hull does float more like a cork...

    Navigating in Fog

I guess the two statements above are what confused me. I agree, if you never take a chance on getting caught in the fog or darkness then you don't need radar. However, getting caught in the fog or darkness is a horrible experience in my opinion. I'll keep my radar.

    Navigating in Fog

I don't know Ken, but when I read that paragraph my mind translates it as: "I feel better about going out and playing in traffic as long as I have a blindfold on" Please tell me that this is a bad analogy.
