Jim There are two most popular methods of catching springers in this area. 1. Trolling herring in the Clifton Channel. Clifton Channel fishing is an area approx. 1 mile long and 1/4 mile across. The depth runs from 7 to 18 ft. depending on tide and location. I troll a herring on 6 ft. of...

    2-90's or 150 + 15 Kicker for 25?

I'd like someone to correct me if I'm wrong, but my thoughts are... With twin motors both motors are offset on the stern. This works great when both motors are running, Because they are offset, and when only one motor is running, the motor is pushing at an angle to the stern causing a...

Roger There's more good news. Last years run was supposed to be huge, but only 2/3 of the predicted run showed up. They are predicting that some of that 1/3 of the run stayed out in the ocean an extra year. What that means is that we should have more 5 yr. old fish this year. Those will...

    Kicker Steering

Mak I use the tie rod setup on my 25', wouldn't have it any other way. On several occasions I've been operating with the autopilot on while standing in the cockpit when a fish strikes. No problem, just set the hook on the fish then back up into the cabin (keeping the rod tip out the...

    All chain rode/ battery question.

All chain rode? It is highly recommended here on the Columbia River to keep a sharp knife handy when anchoring in the Columbia. In the event that a large log comes drifting down river, you may need to cut your anchor rope immediatly as there is no time to to weigh anchor. A large log could...

    Garmin , Raymarine or ????

I just checked. Mine is a Raymarine RL70C system with ST-5000 autopilot. Flagold, the radome mounted right behind the anchorlight does not affect it at all. The radome shoots around it like it's not even there.
