    Seattle Opening Day

We took the trawler to Opening Day this last weekend and ended up with a brief clip on the Kiro TV story (from :56 to 1:02): http://www.kirotv.com/video/27812848/index.html There was a CD "Nor Irish" acting as a Patrol boat: My club competed (not very well) for the "Wilson Seamanship Trophy"...

    Port Townsend to Orcas Island

Here's the link for the Significant Wave Height for that station: http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/show_plot.php?station=46088&meas=sght&uom=E I check this link regularly when I'm in the area - the graph is quick and easy:

    Port Townsend to Orcas Island

Big ships don't bother me much, but my wife gets very concerned. You should be aware of how the VTS operates, and it wouldn't hurt to have either an AIS integrated plotter or an "app" that shows AIS traffic in the area (here's a screen snap of the new Marine Traffic iPhone app):

    No Juice :(

Sounds like you measured it immediately after disconnecting the charger - perhaps even with the charger connected. If you unplug the charger and wait a couple of hours, a typical "resting voltage" for a 12v battery is 12.7 to 12.8 volts. As others have said, it's seems most likely to be a poor...

    05/13 - 05/15 - Friday Harbor CBGT

I keep my CD22 at Skyline - they sling launch it for me when I call ahead , but I'm pretty sure they can do it for one-time customers and $35 (round trip) is what I recall. They have a fuel dock as well. If the weather is at all snotty, it will save some time and going through Guemes Channel...

So...my "new to me" CD 16 is water-logged!

Electrophysics is a well known manufacturer of higher quality units, and they have an EBay store: http://stores.ebay.ca/Electrophysics-Meters I have their GRP200, external sensor, and calibration plate - it took a while for me to figure out how to use it effectively.

    CD22 sold in Ketchicak

FWIW, this 1990 original owner 1990 CD22 with 2004 Yamaha 60 & 6 4-strokes at $17,000 in Ketchikan is reported as "sold": http://juneau.craigslist.org/boa/2287346198.html That's a pretty good buy for newer hull CD22, especially in AK - if you can keep it lightly loaded.

    camping list for the dory

If erikad decides to add this, it will probably become quite the talking point in Sitka (his home)!

    Generator Home

BTW, saw a 2000w Ryobi generator display (though no generator!) at Home Depot yesterday for $599. Can't find the db rating or weight online, looks in general to be equivalent to Honda EU200 (typically costing $900+). Anyone care to comment?

    The Day is Getting Close

I didn't see anything about heating the boat. After propulsion that would be my #1 priority. Assuming you have the Wallas and the previous owner kept it in working condition, you should search for Wallas threads so you know how to manage it (fuel, battery voltage, etc). If you don't have the...

    05/13 - 05/15 - Friday Harbor CBGT

I just signed up - but I'm probably going to leave Saturday mid-day to get home to my wife (I couldn't talk her into getting onto a plane and coming up - I DO have "permission" to stay until Sunday but...).

    05/13 - 05/15 - Friday Harbor CBGT

It looks like I'm going to be able to make it to the FH CBGT. My wife is at a conference and gets home Saturday morning - I'm thinking she can fly into FH and then we go home together on Sunday. One question: I would have our 60lb Samoyed with us so I'd like to be next to the dock - am I...

    Trouble buying my dreams

FWIW, if you are 5'10" or less, you might want to look for a "classic" boat with the smaller cabin and completely flat hull bottom (if those features work for you). There have been several of these "classics" with modern 4-stroke repowers that have had asking prices under $20K - like the minty...

    Trouble buying my dreams

As much as the owners on this site would welcome hearing that their boats are appreciating in value, I don't think anyone would believe that to be true. There is a huge seasonal component to boat pricing, and C-Dory is no exception. When the fishing and cruising season is over, the nights...

Lazarette Hatch - Imtra Part #?

FWIW, I called Scott at the factory and he said he might have some coming in, but that he's trying to move away from that hatch to a Bomar equivalent so that he can standardize his production. He wasn't sure if Bomar had one with the same cutout, but he's going to follow up with me tomorrow and...

Lazarette Hatch - Imtra Part #?

Thanks! Also - if you installed them - the Imtra site just says that the fasteners are concealed by the trim. I'm going to have to drill new holes, right?

Lazarette Hatch - Imtra Part #?

Can someone verify for me the Imtra part # OR the overall size of the Imtra replacement lazarette hatch? My boat's up in Anacortes and not convenient... They have two sizes that might be right and I can't remember: - 40104 - 8x12 cutout, 11.125x14.75 overall - 40154 - 10x12.75 cutout...
