Cushion / Padding Around V-Berth Entrance

I purchased some half inch closed cell foam with a self adhesive backing off of ebay and stuck it in places where I bumped my head in the v-birth. It has saved a few headaches

    Edmonds Area 10 Coho

At Sekiu the last couple days we have had to release 14 or 15 wild coho to get 4 hatchery. It is terribly hard work.

    Fuel filter water separator

I always coat the o rings with 90wt oil before installation and hand tighten. I have not had problems with removing the cartridge or plastic bowl. After purchasing the boat the first time I changed it was a b****, but not since. That said, I do carry a spare bowl and cartridge.

Down-rigger response time and longer boats.

Your gonna miss some no matter how close to the rods you are. That's why they call it "fishing" not "catching". You will miss more of them when you are fishing 150' deep Like Gary said, start reeling as fast as you can before taking pole out of holder. until the line tightens up then pull the...

Sealing Thru-hull fasterners in fiberglass over wood

I have built a couple of drift boats. The first was a Don Hill 16' McKenzie river double ender with transom. The second was a 16' McKenzie river Square Ender AKA (Rapid Robert). The later can be seen in Roger Fletcher's book "Drift Boats and River Dories". My advise would be to get rid of the...

    Princess Louisa Cruise Help

Some long days on the water and not likely that you will be able to maintain full speed for the entire route. Not everyone has the time, but it would be good to allow more time to make it more enjoyable. You should call and double check that eggmont has fuel before passing up fuel at Pender...

Need wiring info for fluxgate compass

Our compass is connected to the Raymarine autopilot course computer that is connected to our C80. I believe that the terminals are labeled as to where it hooks in. Also, The Raymarine forum has lots of good info on it. It is no longer open to new questions, but there is plenty of archived info...

    8 HP kicker on 22’ Cruiser - What’s your set-up?

We have a Honda 8 hp on our 22 . I love the electric start. It is mounted directly to the transom and has a removable tie bar that hooks to main motor. The tie bar is the only way to go. It allows you to steer from the cabin. If you need it for emergency motor, you will not want to be steering...

    Princess Louisa Cruise Help

We went up to Louisa the summer before covid hit. We opted for the western route crossing Georgia strait from Nanaimo. Another good thing about taking this route is that you can sit and wait for the right weather window at Newcastle Island marine park. There are plenty of well protected bouys to...

Installing male "screw type" snaps to hull

For your application you might want to think about trying these https://www.sailrite.com/YKK-SNAD-White ... -Base-Stud They stick to fiberglass very well and can be removed. Easy application, if you do happen to lose one another can be reapplied easily

Is This Thinking TOO FAR Out of the BOX

On our boat I installed a Garmin Stryker 7SV stand alone sonar/fishfinder. It gives much better feed back than the Raymarine DSM300 and Airmar PS66 combo that was origionally installed on our boat. This also gives redundancy for Sonar in case one of the systems fail. I like having the sonar on...

Is This Thinking TOO FAR Out of the BOX

In situations where you are doing 3 knt and looking for obstacles could you shut off and possibly lift the starboard motor to cut down on turbulence and provide a clear view for the transducer?

We got ours yesterday. Very Nice. Thanks to all for getting it together.
  18. Kitchen stuff all goes under front passenger seat. These seats can be easily removed to convert back to original seating if we wanted to have the convertible bed, but we have no need for that and find this configuration much more convenient.
