    Single-Handing

Considering what I pay for a slip, I don't mind calling my Harbormaster on a blustery day when I'm coming in without a mate, and asking for a hand at the dock. They usually just wind up standing there, but it's always good to have an extra set of hands and eyes. Don't be afraid to ask for a...

Jammin's Jungle Gym - Kayak Carrier - Radar Arch

Thanks RF: That's what I hoped for on the roof. That place looks great. I'm always keeping an eye open towards a little waterfront place in SE, too. It's getting easier to justify considering Whittier just announced plans for a new 500 boat marina at the head of the bay and intends to cater to...

Jammin's Jungle Gym - Kayak Carrier - Radar Arch

Can't wait to see that rack Red F. I'm still working up the courage to put a bunch of holes in C-Worthy's roof for mine. I don't think there's balsa up there, so that's a little better. It's going to be pretty sweet when I do, though.

    Wanted - Cockpit Canvas Details

I think I'll have to reconsider my color choice this spring, after I shovel the snow off, and discover all the new "opportunities" for duct tape. So here's my duct tape joke: How is duct tape like The Force? :?: Well, it has a dark side, and a light side, and it holds the universe...

Jammin's Jungle Gym - Kayak Carrier - Radar Arch

Hey Jamming, that rack really looks good. Thanks for the pix. I've got the teak rails on C-Worthy and no stern rails, so am going to have to drill. But I'm not afraid. Nope not me. :| My question is with the length of the rack. I plan on carying sea kayaks that are 17 feet long. I am hoping...

    Wanted - Cockpit Canvas Details

Here's what I came up with for C-Worthy. Two adjustable tent poles, a green tarp (I know, it doesn't match the blue trim) some p-cord, and two suction-cup hooks from Fred Meyer's. I prop it up with the boathook in the motor well betwen the twins. It's cheap and keeps the pretty boats from...

    07/02 - 07/03, Naked Island, Alaska

I'd also suggest Cabin Bay :thup for our little armada of "water jeeps". There are good spots to anchor in MacPherson Passage, but we watched a group of three rafted fishing boats drag anchor, and get blown across the passage in a strong S. blow, where they re-hooked :!: on the other side of...

    07/02 - 07/03, Naked Island, Alaska

Awesome guys! Count the crew of C-Worthy in. I hope to have a new stainless kayak rack to show off by then. By the way, I really get some interesting results when I Googled "Naked Island" for images.

    Wanted - Cockpit Canvas Details

I too am thinking of going this route in Anchorage, Dogon Dory. I'm really interested in what you come up with.

Right props for CD-22 for full 5500-6000 RPM at WOT

Lots of good information. I'm really seeing the value of trimtabs. I sure appreciate all your replies.

    Scale Model C-Dorys

I know there are several other boat modellers out there as well. This was the only guy I checked with. Thanks again. I'll keep looking.

    Scale Model C-Dorys

I was attempting to get a scale model of C-Worthy built. No luck, though. It sounds like maybe in the new year, after the factory move. Read below if interested. Notice how I never got a price from them??? Hmm. Maybe if enough folks show an interest ... Here's their website...

    C-Worthy

I'm glad you all liked the new album. The new photos were from our 3-week trip around Prince William Sound. Just the wife, dog, and boat. A great trip. We started in Whittier, and stopped in Cordova and Valdez along the way. Those bears can be mighty talented. Also, notice the foul-weather...

Right props for CD-22 for full 5500-6000 RPM at WOT

Does it help gas mileage to bring the bow down in chop? My wife and I differ on if the extra drag from the motors being down cancels out any savings in increased speed at the same RPM. We get 1-2nmph more if the motors are all the way down in a straight-on chop (and the ride is smoother). 22'...
