CHRISTENING LIST
Here is what I have as of today!
It is NOT too late to get added to the list, and day-of requests are OK too but I would prefer to have advance notice of your name and your boat name!
Our names: Tom & Katie Wilson
Boat name: Jolly Blue
Monica and Howard Harrow
Dock Holiday...
I just made my reservation but Adam did not give me a specific slip. I requested a starboard tie and he said he would put it in the notes, but the confirmation email said to call in on VHF 66 to get a specific slip assignment.
The first Chesapeake CBGT was at Lankford in 2005. We had a wedding on Long Island and we came a week early. We had planned to cruise with Bill and El on Halcyon, but Tom Callahan (Otter) contacted us out of the blue to offer us the use of his CD22 for the week following the CBGT. The highlight...
What amazes me is that in 2009 there were 3,600 registered C-Brats, which at the time seemed like a lot for our modest little boats. Now in 2022, there are more than 9,900 C-Brats!
Redfox was truly the original "c-BRAT"! Greg Davidson's C-Dory was named "Redfox," and it was known by all back in the day!
Here is a little history I penned in May 2009 about C-DOGs (C-Dory Owners Group), the original MSN C-Brats, and the transition to our current site courtesy of Da Nag...
We live in Blaine and have done PLI a couple of times - a special place not to be missed! My vote is for crossing from Blaine to Sucia then into the Gulf Islands, and spending a night at Newcastle Island at Nanajmo. The only time we have grounded (except on the Great Loop) was on the Fraser River...
Your choice, Tom. And I understand that you don't care what others think. We chose to get the full offering of jabs, and will get the second booster as soon as we can. We will enjoy boating in Canada as well as driving up to Vancouver for Granville Island. I disagree that the Canadian policy is...
So far, I only have two boats requesting christening at Friday Harbor. Do not tempt the gods of the sea by cruising in an unchristened C-Dory! PM me if you would like your boat christened!
I think that more than a few of us would second that! It is worth the drive - and a bonus for us, our son's family, especially our two youngest grandchildren, live in Milwaukie, OR!
Well, we DID the Great Loop on a CD25 Cruiser over eight months in 2017 with a dog and a cat. It was perfect for us.
We had opened up the vee-berth, had the factory delete the marine head and installed a composting head ourselves.
We had full canvas that made the cockpit an additional room...
Harvey - the "cellular capable" iPads do not find a location by triangulation. The iPad location is not based (and AFAIK never has been based) on "cell and GPS combined." Cell capable iPads, whether or not they have cell service, have an actual GPS receiver in them that determines lat and lon...

We had a CD22 for two years, 2003-2005. We moved up to a CD25 in 2005. We have never regretted it. We did the whole Great Loop in 2017, 5,428 miles over eight months. We trailered from Washington State to Florida and back. With our composting toilet, we never needed to find a pump out. We...
Through good fortune and the timing of a wedding we were attending in New York, we were able to attend the very first Eastern Shore Gathering in 2005. We were going to cruise for a week after the gathering as Bill and El Fiero's guests on Halcyon, but out of the blue Tom and Kathy Callahan from...
This was set up by the factory, and famed photographer Neil Rabinowitz did the photography. There was a video, link in this 2015 C-Brat thread. Youtube now says the video is blocked for copyright reasons, probably the music, but I am not sure.
