    Yamaha internal anodes

You can find all the shop manual part #'s at http://www.yamahapubs.com/html/index.html. In my case, the service manual for a 2003 F80 TRLB is LIT-18616-01-96. The posting for the 2005 service manual is http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/serv ... 6_1014.pdf. So with those clues, have at it...

    Yamaha internal anodes

Joe - I had no problem finding the service manual part # on the Yamaha web site, but the last 4 digits are something beyond the part #. Maybe a date code for the latest revision or something - Jim

    Yamaha internal anodes

Thanks Joe. I tried everything but no. 5 - the "LIT-18616-02-86" part of the address is actually the Yamaha part # for the service manual, and I found the part # for my model. If I could just crack the "_1014" part of the code I'd probably have it. I'll try iboats as well. Even if I don't...

    Yamaha internal anodes

Joe - The link to the shop manual is sweet! Do you know if there are links for other models (like my 2003 F80)? I tried fishing around on the Yamaha and hulltruth websites and couldn't find it, but they must exist. Thanks for posting that - Jim

    Yamaha internal anodes

I just did this on my F80 last weekend. There's a rubber grommet on each of the anodes. You just need to be careful putting it back in so you don't wind up pinching it like I did. Work the anode all the way in until it's seated in its socket before you tighten the bolts. Other than that...

    BayStar hydr. steering

I went through this a couple years ago when I mounted my Yamaha F80 on my '81 Angler. I thought I was home free when I cut off the old steeringf cable, but alas, I still wound up unbolting the motor to get both sides of the Baystar steering into the pivot tube. It's not that hard, but it's...

    Raymarine C80 trip log

Fred - I don't know about the C80, but on my older L760 I had the same problem. When you hit the "menu" button, there's a ""track setup" option that comes up, and then a "clear track" option. Clearing the track resets the trip log. Jim F.

    Oportunity to buy a 22' 1984 C-Dory---Need advice....

Camelguy - I bought my '81 Angler with similar equipment 6 years ago for $6,000, but the engine was still the original 1983 Johnson. I've since repowered and replaced almost everything else. Knock on wood, but I think I finally have everything where I want it - Relatively new 4-stroke main...

Replacement Fuel Tanks for a 1984 Angler

My '81 Angler came with two 12-gallon tanks that fit under the splashwell, but I replaced them with a single 26 gallon Moeller tank that fits in the same place. Its the model 950 and is 19" W x 29.25" L x 12.25" H. Cabelas has them for $120 I can still carry the original 12-gallon tanks...

    Anyone using a Troll Master?

Rick - I just put the Pro-max model on my Yamaha 9.9 kicker, and it's another wish-I'd-done-it-sooner project. I had tried remote cables and they were a real loser. The bracket they sent didn't fit my older (1990) kicker, and they made up a special bracket and sent it for no charge. I...

    Auxiliary helm and control station(25')

Don - I'd ditto the recommendation for an autopilot. For the same investment as a second steering station, you can get a two-fer - steering capability in the cockpit and an AP. I put a Raymarine St6001 in my 22' Angler last year. You can buy it for under $1000, and I think the remote is...

    Hydraulic steering option?

C-Quest - See the "Hydraulic Steering Upgrade" discussion under the "Motor Controls" forum. I did an upgrade to the Baystar with a Raymarine St6001 AP last year. Short story: Another "Wish I'd done it sooner" upgrade. The Baystar system (much cheaper than Seastar) works just dandy with...

    Composite prop satisfaction

Been reading the thread on composite props and wanted to go ahead and order one and keep my stock prop for a spare. Can any of you with the Comprops help me out with sizing? I'm running a 3x13.x15 standard Yamaha aluminum prop on my F80, which seems to be about the right size for WOT - do...

Maintenance for c-dory kept in slip

Dan - I get water out every possible port with the hose fitting flush. With about 70 psi of pressure from the hose, that's not surprising. My manual also advises not to run the engine this way (in spite of what my dealer did), and that might make some sense. In that case, the impeller pump...

Maintenance for c-dory kept in slip

Good grief! Three facts: 1) When the engine (my Yamaha F80 in this case) is running, water comes IN through the inlet in the lower unit and goes OUT through an outlet (the "pisser" port). In order for the hose fitting flush to bypass the water pump, Yamaha would have to go to lots of...

Maintenance for c-dory kept in slip

Dan - As a matter of fact, it is a little tough hanging out there attaching the muffs, but I guess I could have backed it into the slip and made it a whole lot easier. I never did try running it in the up position; maybe it wouldn't have been a problem. I've never heard that the hose...

Maintenance for c-dory kept in slip

Hi Gary - I haven't dealt with the rainwater much because I'm only in the slip from late spring through later summer. Since I'm only 1/2 mile from the slip I just go down and bail it anyway. A cruise some time would be fun if we could make it work. I've got the boat hauled out now, but I'll...

Maintenance for c-dory kept in slip

Gary - I flush my engines at the slip every trip. With the new Yamaha main motor it's pretty easy with the hose fitting - I just flush it with the motor tilted up; it doesn't need to be run. But I also used to do it with my old Johnson 70 outboard. I'd just put the earmuffs on with the hose...

    Center console C-Dory 22?

C-Dory did once make a center-console v-hull, 22' I think. I think it was called the "Offshore" model. There's one in this area that I see from time to time. Jim F

    Old vs new style hulls

Bartman - I have one of the original Anglers - 1981, hull # 023. I also have a friend with a 1989 Angler with the newer hull style. I'd really agree with the previous comment - if the boat is otherwise what you'd want, I wouldn't let the flat aft hull turn you away. I've ridden in both and...
