You should of had your boat insured with BOAT US. I know the premiums are higher than others, but when you have a loss they give you a check real soon.
Always get an Agreed Value Policy and start with the amount that you paid for the boat. Every boat that I have had I have insured withBOAT US...

tomherrick,
You might also check out the Best Western in Apalachicola. We are staying there. Nice and clean, good rooms, pool, and free breakfast.
There are several good Bed and Breakfast places.
Also the El Rancho Motel. Not as nice.
We have also stayed at the Main Stay Inn in Port St. Joe...
Marc,
If you need any help after the storm:
I have a chain saw.
Let me know and I will come to
Apalachicola and give you some help.
FREE HELP! Did I say FREE - Yes.

I am so glad that the date was decided early this year. If you are planning on coming, make you reservations early.
You can always cancel later if things come up and you cannot make it.
I think this will be my 8th Apalachicola Gathering. It is one of the best fun and relaxed times on a...
A GPS is really nice to look at, BUT
I am from the "old school" I rely on paper charts,
a compass, look at my surroundings and
most of all I pay attention.
The price of good seamanship is constant vigilance!
In Apalachicola you can launch at the city marina. They have a really nice boat launch area and you can park your vehicle and trailer under the John Gorrie bridge. It is a safe place to leave your vehicle/trailer parked. You can stay at the city marina almost for free. The police are supposed to...

Go on line to Best Western Motels and enter the location of Apalachicola, Florida. Apalachicola is a small town (3000 people) and there is only one Best Western.
They will be glad to see you and we will too.

Well I am not getting caught this year with my pants down. I registered late last year and had to stay in Port St. Joe.
I just made reservations at the Best Western Motel for October 22 thru 25 so we will have a place to sleep for the Apalachicola Gulf Coast Gathering.
This is a really fun...
The rumor here is what ever the cost at West Marine add another zero to the price.
I worked for them part time for 7 years at minimum wage. The only advantage was I refurbish 2 sail boats and took advantage of the associate cheap pricing.
They finally threw all part timers under the bus and...
One of the posts informed about the Americans that Cuba has killed. Just remember we lost 55,000 in Vietnam which is a communist country. We do business with Vietnam today and American tourist visit all the time. Look at the items for sale in every store that come from China. We have a large...
I started to make reservations in Apalachicola on October the 1st and found that for the days I wanted everything was booked.
Naturally my wife reminded me that I should of made reservations in September.
I did make reservations at the Mainstay Suites in Port St. Joe (24 miles from...
HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY!!!
Dave and Marlene will be there. We have been looking forward for the announcement. Lots of fun. Bill and Brenda Russell will be stopping at our house on the way and we are very glad for their stay with us. It will be so good to see all of the Ole Wefings Brats.
Marc and Anita and all of the "WEFINGS" crew a BIG BIG BIG thank you! This was the best gathering of them all. I have been to 6 and hope to be at many more.
Marlene and I really enjoyed being there. Great food and good friendship.
Bill and Brenda Russell "FALCON" are at our house this night...
The Gulf Coast Intercoastal Waterway must be open  between Panama City, FL and Choctawhatchee Bay.
Because I am now seeing large barges pushed by big tug boats cruising in the GCIW.
If they can get thru any size boat that we have can also get thru.
