    Kodiak Brakes

Karl I'm using Kodiak with oil bath hubs. Just did a complete brake, bearing & seal job not to long ago. If you are going to do a brake job check 6 Robblees in Tacoma, They had all the parts and they were less than EZ Loader.

Bill I do know that Auburn sports and marine sells the E-Tec, but I will tell you this, they are real proud of their stuff. I belive Kitsap marine handles them also, but not certain.

best outboard to buy to replace a honda 135????

Bill The only thing I will say is, buy what YOU want. They all have their good and bad points. but in the end you only have you to please. For me with the quality of the motors out there today the biggest factor in deciding would be the availability of parts and service.

    Crabbing area 8-2

As a sport fisherman I have no problem with the seperate tribal fisheries, BUT, I have a big problem with the numbers game. And the numbers game is all screwed up. That also includes the commercial side of the coin. But we the sport fishermen have been grumbling and complaining for years to no...

Choice of kicker size for a 22' Cruiser?

Colby You got the idea. If I remember correct the bar on the front of your Merc already has counter sunk holes . Just come up from below with your screws It may not be the prettiest setup, and like I said it does have its limits, but it does work

Choice of kicker size for a 22' Cruiser?

Colby There is away to tie your Merc with hydralic steering using that tie bar set up. I did it with my 90 Merc unfourtunatly I dont have pictures. But I used a piece of aluminum barstock 1/4 x 1x8 inches that I screwed to the front of the motor right above the hydralic cylinder. If I remember...

    Garelick motor mount for kicker

Colby As long as the kicker is out of the water when you have it tilted and are running on a plane I think I would leave it as is. It darn sure won't hurt it.

    05/18 - 05/19 - Friday Harbor Gathering

Hey Pat is Duncan going to come? And is his wife Tracy coming also? You know she used to teach music with my wife. Was hoping to see them while we were there.

    Garelick motor mount for kicker

The height of your kicker looks fine. In fact it sits lower than mine and I don"t have any problems.

    Garelick motor mount for kicker

How about some sort of spacer between the mini jack plate and your transom. A 6hp Tohatsu is not that heavy of a motor. Even if it is just an inch maybe that will buy you enough clearance. You can notch out the bottom of the jack plate to clear the tab piston

    Security for Outboard Motors

After having my kicker motor boosted off my boat I bolted it right to the jack plate. I used those nuts like what guys use on custom wheels. The ones that have a spinning outter collar and take a special socket to remove. But I can't remember who made them for boats. They are stainless steel...

    What about you "Tall Fella's"?

I'll second that about the doorways. For the first year we owned our boat the door frame looked like a scene from a Wes Craven movie.

    Auto Painting Shops

I am thinking about having my truck repainted. Anyone recomend a shop in the Seattle area? I don't need much body work done, and I want to keep the same color. I just want a good job, doesn't have to be show quality, at a fair price

Help on replacing steering tie bar for twin Honda 40s

They are a spring loaded ball and socket type of set up. The sockets just screw right on the bar.You used to be able to get the sockets and the ball joints separately. I had to a couple of years ago. I got mine local I would try Cabellas, or Bass pro, or West Marine. I do remember seeing the tie...

Help on replacing steering tie bar for twin Honda 40s

What you are using to tie your two 40's is the same as I'm using to tie my kicker. And as it is a great set up for that I don't think I would use it for your application. If are dead set on using the same set up you can replace the bar with stainless all thread.

    Not an outboard but...

Another thing that aids in longevity in these engines is that they are cross head design so that there is virtually no lateral force on the piston and cylinder
