    New Lazarette Covers

Who else is up for the hull colored covers? You want them, Warren, right? Let's get it together. I need to either do it this week or wait 2 weeks after that, as I will be away. I don't mind holding a few, but would rather not have all. Thanks, Joel.

    New Lazarette Covers

Ten covers should be easy enough. If we don't have 5 buyers, one or more of us could take 2 sets and pass the extra set on - or maybe someone else will speak up. Could we do it through you, Joel, as you suggested, having it shipped to one of us to distribute? I propose we get the money in...

    New Lazarette Covers

If anyone has gotten these covers and for some reason isn't using them,I'd be happy to take them off your hands. Dave

    New Lazarette Covers

Somehow I slept through this thread. I'd love to remove those factory lazarette covers. Do you have any more, Joel? Gel coat color? Dave

    Favorite eating places

Maybe you Florida guys can tell me.... There was a great shrimp house in Mayport FL. They catch the shrimp themselves, and serve them up informal family style. Quite a feast. Can't remember the name. Singleton's? Does this still exist? Dave

    Ooops

Great stuff in this conversation. I can see a lot of value in a change to closed hooks. How often do folks look at their wheel bearings? I realized I haven't checked mine since 2005. Dave

Anybody using AGM battery with Yamaha OB's

    >For that 12.7V to be the right indicator of a full charge the battery has to >have no load on it, and to have been sitting for maybe 24 hours since the >charge completed. If the charger is still connected or has been so recently >the voltage will be higher. That's why folks who want to know the...

Anybody using AGM battery with Yamaha OB's

More... I think the one most important thing I have learned about my boat batteries is that I need to charge them AFTER using the boat, on the trailer at home. When I finish for the day, I tilt the engine up for trailering, then tip it down at home to drain. Earlier engine needed starting for...

Anybody using AGM battery with Yamaha OB's

Harvey, Who's working on your boat in PT? Is it still here? When you put her in, we ought to make the coffee run to Nordland! I have been doing a lot of studying of batteries in the last few years. I first had an electric conversion car (old VW Rabbit truck) and now have a Zenn NEV. These...

Scale model made of any C-Dory's?

Based on return on equity, C-Dory might make more money on models. In this economy, everybody needs to downsize.

    Victoria in winter

Pictures. Unfortunately they are only in my head. What I remember, looking south, were the lovely evening lights that outline the Parliament building. Looking north, a couple of tour boats had outlines in blue LED Christmas lights, which reflected also in the water, all while snow was...

    Victoria in winter

I almost posted this under the "Moves you don't want to make..." thread, which is progressing interestingly. I liked TR's statement: "One thing for sure, I have quit going out in conditions that are marginal. It is too stressful, potentially dangerous, and just not worth it. I have turned into a...

    Inflatable on roof

I'm reminded of this seeing Dog On Dog with inflatable on roof. I carry mine the same way, and have wondered from time to time if there is some risk in it. If there is heavy rain and/or spray, you could accumulate some water in the dinghy, and I imagine quickly become top heavy. A boat load...

    22' Philip Bolger Retriever

The time spent in this Bolger boat really defined my desire for a boat that could do what his did. When I saw my first C Dory, it clearly met the specs. Between the C Dory and the Bolger, I'd have to say the C Dory is easier in a lot of ways, and vastly more handsome. In favor of the Bolger...

    22' Philip Bolger Retriever

Wow! This brings back memories. A friend of mine built one of these, and I cruised with him twice. This was the boat that made me understand the concept of water camping, efficient operation, trailerability, and some other stuff. I remember going under a bridge by Atlantic City on the ICW...

    11/15 - Snohomish River Cruise

I just signed up. The Everett marina is user friendly, and not to far away. If the water isn't too rough to come over Friday, I'll be at the marina for the night. I've been wanting to make that trip up the river. Dave

    Oracle Speaks

At Port Townsend's Wooden Boat Festival, I was sitting on Pirate, and talking to a BMW Oracle guy (part of the building-rigging team) who said they were looking for a top speed of 45 kts. He was admiring Pirate, which was built for racing in 1927, and won the national R Boat championship in New...

My neighbors' 1988 22 Angler, price cut...

My neighbors have had this 1988 22 Angler for a couple of years, but have not been able to use it as much as they hoped. It was listed here (http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=9598 ), but they have cut the price to $15,000 firm since then. For someone wanting to get into a C Dory with not...

Carburated vs EFI (Honda -- 2006 or 2007?)

I replaced a Honda 75 with a 90EFI a year ago and the difference is huge. The 90 is lighter, 15HP greater, starts perfectly (usually an issue with the 75), runs smoother, and gets 1 mpg better. Easy choice. Dave
