    01/13 - 01/15 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

I'm happy to say I am now a WA resident, within boating distance to the Boat Show, now in Port Townsend. I had hoped to get to the show last winter, but will be there for sure this year. What a joy to be able to boat year round here! Dave McWethy

    Outboard Maintenance

I should know where the drain is on my Honda 75, but I can't find it. Any help?

    Honda BF75

I don't have a quality dealer near by, and intend to do my 100 hour service. My instructions on adjusting the valves is to set the two wheels on top of the engine to match the T to T , T to 1, etc. Only thing, the two marks don't line up. Do you just have the flywheel T point back assuming...

    New to Port Townsend

We're in Acworth NH, next to Vermont, south of White River, north of Keene. I've been there 25 years. I'll check out Freyja. Dave

    New to Port Townsend

I hope to get in a bunch more outings on the New England coast before I leave. From Maine to NYC there is a lot to see. Other than that, I can't wait to be back here (WA). Right now it is 15 below tonight at home. I can live without that! Dave

    New to Port Townsend

At the Blakely gathering last summer I mentioned to folks that I was hoping to move from New Hampshire to Port Townsend. I bought a house this week and hope to be here (I am there this week) in six months or so. I look forward to cruising with you folks again. Anyone want to buy a 230 acre...

    Superchips for Turbo Diesels

I have had a couple of Dodge diesels. The first had a TST torque plate (for '96), and the second (2000) has an Edge box. Edge is okay but I have greater trust in TST (a little more money). They make a nice difference and shouldn't hurt anything if you don't race on it. I should note I have...

    Inflatable Dinghies

Interesting thread. I bought my C-Dory from Les, and he gave me the same advice last summer. I did buy the little 2HP Honda, but I had the chance right off to buy a used 8 or 8.5 Avon for not much money. I did that, and discovered that it was a two person job to put it on the roof. The...

    Outboard carb synchronizing

I wonder if you avoid the problem of the carbs sucking your fluid if you use the mercury carb sticks. Not nice to think of mercury being sucked into the engine! Dave

    Outboard carb synchronizing

Any suggestions out there for synchronizing tools for balancing carbs? I know Les uses the Motion Pro Vacuummate, which I have the impression is a great tool, but is pricey for occasional use. I have a set of mercury carb sticks for motorcycle balancing, but haven't tried them on my Honda...

    Need some electrical advice

Hi Dusty If there is a separate switch, I don't know where it is. It doesn't have a switch on the switch panel. Is that what you're thinking? Dave

    Need some electrical advice

I had forgotten about the lever that pops out on the circuit breaker. I pushed the button, thinking that was resetting the breaker (it's dark in there!). Everything came back on and the Lencos seem to be working okay now. The boat is now put up for the winter, so it'll be spring before I know...

    Need some electrical advice

Thanks for the replies. The Lencos were installed by Les, so they should be right. I will be checking it further today and will let you know what I find. Dave

    Need some electrical advice

I have a single Honda, and Lenco trim tabs. Usually when I shut the engine down, they retract noisily. I took the boat out of the water yesterday, and though I can't remember exactly what happened, the noise pattern was different - I believe it made the reset sound when I turned the key to...

    Have a good Thanksgiving

Hi Brats! I'm writing from the Chesapeake, instead of home in NH. I'm thankful for the pleasure of meeting some of you this summer at Blakely. I towed my boat down to Annapolis to visit with family. My son and I took a ride up to Baltimore harbor (very impressive) and have had a great time...

10/13-10/17 - Lake Champlain Fall Foliage C-Dory Cruise

Hi Rick I was trying to get rid of dinner any way I could. The rest of the day HAD to get better from there. And it did. Dave

    boat food

I've been experimenting with the frozen Stauffer's bags of chicken and veggies or shrimp and veggies. After a day or so they thaw, but are fine. Just heat them in a pan. My crews have been enthusiastic for the shrimp and the alfredo chicken, not so much for the garlic chicken. And the...

10/13-10/17 - Lake Champlain Fall Foliage C-Dory Cruise

Good write-up, Rick. We too had a great time, and much enjoyed our cruising company. I look forward to more cruises with these guys. After the high standard set at the gathering at Blakely Island the first day I owned my boat this summer, it was nice to join a New England get together. I...

    Cabin door lock issue?

Might be your door isn't fully latching. I find I need to shut mine, then nudge it a bit to get that final click, and then it locks fine with the key. Dave
