New state record lingcod! 65 pounds

I didn't realize until today that Washington keeps separate records for rod/reel vs speargun. Turns out, I would have both records had I known!

The OFFICIAL TomCat Permatrim BEFORE AND AFTER thread!!

After cancelling two offshore trips this year, I finally got a chance to run the boat in the ocean this weekend. We did about 90 miles on Friday, and about 50 miles on Saturday. Water conditions were our typical "north-south-easter" which is generally lumpy. Swell was 5 feet at 11 seconds...

New state record lingcod! 65 pounds

Quite an eventful weekend in the big water this weekend. I landed a new state record lingcod that weighed 65 pounds. I didn't know that until after I butchered it so I will not get the record. The current record is 61 lbs set in the San Juans in 1986. We also got a 26 pound Sablefish. We also...

Tomcat 255 Question - LOA Specs

I wanted to mention my boat does have Permatrims on the engines but I did not include them in the LOA. In the trimmed up position, they wouldn't make a difference anyway. Rob

Bottom paint in the PNW for trailered boat?

Thanks for the recommendations all. I had a conversation with an Interlux rep this morning. He recommended UltraKote, which is a hard paint and better for trailering. It's also listed as a single season paint so would need to be coated every year. Then it sounds like I'd get to deal with hard...

Bottom paint in the PNW for trailered boat?

Long term. I will just take it out of the water to trailer to the fishing grounds and take home for occasional maintenance.

Bottom paint in the PNW for trailered boat?

I'm going to get a slip for my TomCat in the next 6 months or so but will still be trailering the boat on occasion. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'll be DIY'ing this project after I figure out how to jack up a catamaran... Rob

The OFFICIAL TomCat Permatrim BEFORE AND AFTER thread!!

Yes sir. My fuel burn figures I posted in the charts above reflect fuel burn totals for both engines based on the factory installed 2009 era Yamaha digital gauges.

The OFFICIAL TomCat Permatrim BEFORE AND AFTER thread!!

I wanted to lower my planing speed as much as possible. I operate almost entirely in the ocean in the PNW and conditions aren't always favorable for using the TomCat's legs. I knew at the end of last year, I was either going for new stern lifting props, or Permatrims, or both. After several...
