    Gelcoat oxidation?

I had similar issues with my boat, I doubt it had a coat of wax after it left the factory. Recently I used a boat 3M product which has a little cutting agent (name escapes me) in it and the boat looks like new with "the usual effort". P
  5. Secondary water pump switch mainly for fresh water wash down. I got tired of trecking water into the cabin every time I watered to shower off after swimming. Main switch is still on panel and left "on".

  7. View of table in stored position from underneath: I pitched the 1" square rusty table leg last season with a 1" tubular aluminium one and now leave it attached. It is held up with a Beckson clip. Bliss. When I list the table into position, I flip the leg down.

  8. Here is the end of the curtain rail, a screw eye into the wood followed by a screw and finishing washer screwed into the end of the curtain rods works like dream. How did a screw it it? Held the screw with plyers and rotated the curtain rail. Took me a while to figure that one out!

Comment by '' in media 'On the trail to the Shoup Bay cabin'

After getting a $300 quote (per side!!) I decided to take things into my hands. I had some old house curtains hemmed (thanks Ma!) and put in an extendable house curtain rail (details to follow).

    Solar Panel Advice

Hurricanes are just another excuse to drink rum!!! After having 30' plus boats in the past I am actually looking forward to painting a "small" boat. :) Solar Panel Update: Sunforce emailed me back and said that there is no electrical reason NOT to hard wire the panel. The warning is more to...

Hey folks, quick question regarding solar panels etc. I bought a 5W SunForce trickle charger solar panel and the instructions (yes, I read them!) say to disconnect from the battery before starting engine. I did not buy the 7W charging monitor etc. I am assuming that this is to prevent damage...

    Bomar Hatch Leaking

Hi all, as a background I replaced the plexi in my Bomar hatch when I bought the boat as it was cracked. I also installed a solar vent (not the issue here). I have had to re-bed the plexi 3(?) times now as the sealant hasn't seemed to take. I have tried a variety of sealants and/or glues (this...
