    09/19 - 10/01 - Lake Powell 2015

Hi Jim, Yes I had remembered that the impeller had been replaced last year, and hopefully all it is the pee hole plugged. But we were at the end of the time there and DID have a great time so I elected to just get it back and deal with it in more controlled situation at home. I was not sure...

    09/19 - 10/01 - Lake Powell 2015

We just got back home after pulling out a little earlier than I thought we would. We had planned to pull out Monday after the weekend mayhem at the Wahweap ramp. But yesterday morning the pee stream from the motor was so weak when we left Dungeon Canyon to head downstream I decided it would be...

    SOS LED distress signal

Though it would be nice to never have to worry about being in compliance, I couldn't feel like that would be as effective as ariel flares night or day.

    Spare Prop

Speaking of spare prop (sorry for butting into the thread) I picked up a lower pitch aluminum prop for Powell and am trying to decide whether to bring the SS main prop or a composite ProPulse that came with the boat. I would rather not take the space and weight of both if the redundancy of...

    09/19 - 10/01 - Lake Powell 2015

Well I am counting on that there will be a "Stan Jones" map available locally when we get down there as none available online currently. Did get a copy of the "Boaters Guide to Lake Powell". The plan is to launch from Wahweap on the 12th or 13th of Sept. and make it to the rendezvous in Oak Bay...

    Adding swim/diving platform

On my 25 with a different transom, I added a grab handle right on the platform. It doubles its purpose as a place to secure my stern tie reel to.

Is screw type anchoring practical for Powell

Thanks for the responses. I thought the substrate might be too tough for it. I do have a Fortress as well as other Danforth style anchors to use on shore.

Is screw type anchoring practical for Powell

Having never been there I don't know whether the beaches would willingly accept these.

    Prop quality review

Looks like I will be picking up a new prop for going down to Powell this fall. After reading the various threads it looks like I will go with a 3 blade 151/2x13. I notice that through Iboats they show a "Solas Amita" #1511-155-13 for $111, and a "Honda Solas Amita" #58130-ZY3-013A for $147...

    Second anchor suggestions

I also picked a Fortress for back-up, good for that especially since will try and get to Powell this year.
