    C-dory help in purchasing.

This raises 2 questions, especially given the absence of counter-rotating. For a 22 Angler or Cruiser 1) can you do the twin engine docking (ability to spin on almost no radius) with a single and a kicker?? 2) Does running 1 of the 2 twins at displacement speed (or trolling) come close to the...

    Transom crack on tomcat

Sure looks like too much force/torque at the motor mount than could be handled. I would assume this is a warranty issue. Who mounted the motors, and was is done properly?? Looks like all the force hit and rammed the lower part of the crack forward (or could be backwards). Seems to be either a...

    Trim plates for motors

is the general concensus that these are cheaper and simpler than trim tabs, or are they also as good, or better (on a single hull)??

    GPS/handheld VHF suggestions?

Bob, you are right about the Rino (FRS or GMRS), it's unclear from the Garmin info if it is actually has marine VHF. The Uniden looks closer to what I have been looking for, monochrome vs color doesn't matter for a b/u, IMHO. Thanks.

    GPS/handheld VHF suggestions?

I have been looking at the Garmin Rino 500 series. GPS plotter and VHF, handheld. Seems to be a great backup.

    2002 C Dory ( Catch - 22 ) up for sale $22,000.00

Sweet!! If it was a year from now, I'd be jumping in feet first. This waiting sucks!! May be a real missed opportunity. What kind of hours can one expect from those engines??

C-Dory (and other brands) delivered partially built?

This wannabe is sold on the C-Dory, really like this site (I have looked at every mod in the photos). All different boats made have their good and weaker points, better and worse eras and options (even the Brunswick POS). My first boat was a 16' Reinell that worked for 5 days, but not...

C-Dory (and other brands) delivered partially built?

My reply to a similar thread: Is there an era when the quality of the 22 Cruisers was better than the newer ones?? When did corner cutting accelerate?? I spent a few hours at the SD Boat show this weekend, the 22 Cruiser seemed great, but no 22 Angler to compare. But,when I started to look at...

    Electrical/ Led trailer problems

I have always had a U-Haul set as a back up. Has magnetic bases on each light, but is easily duct taped into place. I have used it way too many times over the years. Has bailed my butt out alot. Takes 2 minutes to hook up. I won't trailer without it. Don't want to waste good fishing time. Cheap...

Range of C-Dory at Hull Speed

These #'s make the idea of trolling slowly back home very attractive. A big spread can cover some territory trolling, doubt if the increased drag would make a huge difference. 10mpg on the way back would be impressive.

    Economical Cruising on C-Dory's

Sounds like a very hidden advantage of a kicker for cruising. Looking forward to some observed fuel economy figures, even if just estimates. Makes the twin vs single with kicker discussion an easy one. Many thanks, great site!!

    Garmin Rino

Any experience with this handheld VHF/GPS. Seems the ultimate backup, or too good to be true? Can even send your GPS coordinates.

    C-Dory cabin size.

That conversion is what I'm contemplating on a 22 Angler, including moving the upper half of the port bulkhead forward for a little more cabin length (my feet can go underneath when in the vberth). May have to raise the entire seating surface. Great shots.
